Just checked my Halifax Reward accounts on-line - to date, they've accumulated a healthy £225 simply by charging them each with £1k once a month, leaving it in overnight and moving it out again the next morning.
I know that really, it'd be sensible to transfer the £225 to an interest bearing account, but I kinda like seeing it in there, growing month by month!

Hey QB
great savings by moving your money about too! have been meaning to open a halifax ac for that same reasonn so must get into that!
I can see with the extra outgoings it would maybe be wise to wait before having some extra/guaranteed income before paying the whole mortgage off? (still tempting tho! :rotfl:)
free fireworks sound fab- I got mine free from outside the window!(and stayed out of the rain that way..)
good luck on decisions and the job hunting, how is your masters going btw?0 -
Hi TYO
I am working on my first assignment of the year - it's only 2,000 words, but somehow I've managed to accumulate 11,000 words' worth of notes alone... and that is before I have written a first draft...
Part of my problem I think, is that I have no confidence in myself, or the strength of my arguments. The other is that I want to do well.
Thank you for asking - and if anyone else has a good essay writing technique for people like me who find themselves overwhelmed with stuff (my study looks like a whirlwind's hit it), please share it!!!

essay writing techniques? Gosh, I just tended to write notes on stuff that jumped out at me and then keep rewriting the d*mm thing again and again. I'm sure your argument is very strong
it will be fine
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

hi QB
hmmm..its been a couple of yrs since I wrote any essays and even more since I was doing university level ones.... but I too end up usually with at least double the amount of words to try and cut down into something presentable
sounds like 2 things you identify going on confidence and wanting to do well could feed into wanting to accumulate more and more or "good enough" info ... maybe something like mind mapping would work to get a sense of the basics/relevant point you need in the essay , then linking all the notes you have into which points they link into? I know building confidence is never easy but applying it to what you have suceeded with in your MF activities Id say you will do great at whatever you put your mind to!!
aside from that if all else fails I remember chocolate and cups of tea being particulalry useful when trying to write my dissertation :rotfl:0 -
Thank you girls!!
Well assignment no. 1 for this year is finally in the can... I've just finished my bibliography and realise I read 45 different papers... For the sake of my sanity, I'm gonna have to read less for my next one...
