Freebie supper last night, porridge for breakfast again, baked spud with cheese for lunch and a [rather boring] korma made from chicken leftovers for tea. As I suspected, I'm desperate for something sweet, but I did resist the lure of the confectionary kiosk when out earlier on...
...Otherwise, I'm half way through priming my front wall ready for its top coat tomorrow. I'm proud of my work on it - the old wall was in terrible condition, with peeling paint, and I prepared (and repointed!) it myself... The price of Dulux Weathershield is  but the tin promises it'll last for years and years.

Lol Pammy... I have to rebuild part of a raised flowerbed in my back garden, and was thinking exactly the same as you on that score...

With the exception of milk purchases, I'm still living on larder rations, but it has to be admitted that my diet's become a trifle tedious! I've just been eating porridge for pudding...
I have however, been incurring other expenses - namely decorating materials for my front wall - £23 for a big tin of Weathershield paint, £13 for stabilizing solution and £10.50 for cement. Still, I've done the work myself, which has saved the cost of a handyman, and it looks fab.
Also, I may have found another lodger for my spare room... Fingers crossed on that one though, 'cos it's not yet done and dusted!!

OOh don't know if I could have a lodger, even with the kids left home, feel like its my personal space. Have you always had a lodger?MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Lol... I know what you mean, because I too treasure my personal space, but at the moment, it's financially expedient - and whilst not big, my house is large enough to accommodate two people without is falling over each other. Plus it's only a Monday-Friday arrangement. My last lodger was my first and I was very anxious about it, but it turned out to be fine. Fingers crossed that this one is equally seamless!

As I was up late, I couldn't resist taking a peek at the Nationwide web-site to see how much interest, I'm paying per day.
Checking before and after midnight shows me that today I have paid £3.87 in interest. Now that's not bad, given that last August I was paying £9.62 per day (and I'm currently on a fixed rate of 4.59%).
