  • Hi Queen-Bee,

I don't have the A&L one. I thought you had to switch to them for this account. I am with HSBC and their customer service is second to none so don't want to switch.

I will check A&L one. Surely I have missed something.

Thanks for letting me know about this account

  • MQ – I opened an A&L Premier Direct current account via Topcashback, which earned me £45, though I think you can now get £100 if you do it direct.

It earns 6% pa on a balance of up to £2.5k, providing it’s credited with £500 pcm. The account also meant I could open a Premier Regular Saver, which earns 6% pa on a monthly maximum contribution of £250.

I did have to switch my direct debits from an existing account, but I chose one of a secondary account (not my main one) and didn’t have to close it afterwards.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in here but how did you manage to open three accounts for the Halifax Reward scheme?

    ‘Unearned’ Income

Since opening three Halifax Reward accounts and circulating the same £1,000 through each of them in turn each month, I’ve also accumulated a further £75.

    Hi Queen-Bee,

I have also opened 3 halifax reward current accounts recently. Wasn't sure about circulating the same money through each of them, so I have thinking of circulating the money with Lloyds Vantage Accounts to avoid any issues in the future

Perhaps you just used different members of your family? Or maybe I'm just naive:confused: I would appreciate it if you could give some pointers.

    Thanks
  • Hello and welcome Freepost, the rules for opening these have changed now, but when they first started, this was possible! QB

    Hi Freepost,

A customer can have a maximum of 2 (one sole and one joint) so I and DH have 3 accounts between us.

Thank you for your suggestions I will setup joint accounts asap. Will also try with BoS.

I'm assuming that you don't have to deposit the £1000.00 in one go as long as £1000.00 goes through the account in the same month. So could be a smaller amount that goes through several times .... that would be nice!

Once again thank you for your help.

With this in mind, I've signed up to Weightwatchers On-line. They're offering free registration at the moment, and as I went via Topcashback, I'll receive a £29 credit in due course. This means that I've got three months' cost neutral membership. All I've got to do now, is stick to the plan as MSE as possible!

    Morning Q-B :)

Thought I'd say welcome to the Ww group! Well done on getting the cashback. I've lost 8lb since Xmas - yay - but I seem to get distracted by Ww products in the shop which puts my grocery bill up!
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck :)
