Another £118 sent off for debts,
did well yesterday in town, started paying cash, relatively new experience, hate carrying cash, (had my handbag stolen on the 01/01/2000, what a date, course typical handbag, everything but the kitchen sink, and I can always remember the copper asking is there anything in there, as I reeling the lsit off, hence pay cards 90% of time.
Had dad with me, nipped to poundland got plates/ serviettes/ cups etc for dd party, few extra bits, (he has to carry the bags!), so I did treat him to a coffee at Cafe Nero, he thought I was being gererous, didnt let on that I'd got 2 full loyalty cards!!

Very exicted now my payments are nealy into 4200 bracket xx

What a weekend, `Saturday went ok, had last tutorial for the course, and met the tutor for the next course, so feel bit more poositive, although got my exam 20th Oct (help).

Came back, DD had a party, then a m-shop, but that was perfect, it was the Ben + Jerrys consession in the cinema, so had double icecream, topped with white chocolate polar bears and caramel sauce, (all being refunded).

DDs party Sunday, it was a shambles, last yr there was about 15 parents that stayed, so as it was same kids etc, did a big table full of food for the adults and bar dad + me, 2 adults stayed, (my cousin + her hubby).
The two lads who were doing the party, were a waste of space, gave them the pass the parcels, they told me I'd have to go home and get a stereo as they'd lost theirs! After complaining they found one (it was in the office)

The party was 2pm-4pm, we were told 2pm/3pm was games time, 3 -3.15pm food time, (so we did individual party boxes of food) then 3.15pm to 4pm bouncy castle. Great.

:mad:The lads couldn't control the kids (we had 21 there- originally booked it for 30), my cousin and her hubby ended up having to help organise everything, then at 2.30 one of the lads came across and said I don't know what to do with the kids we're break for food, ok, they disappeared off, despite saying 15 mins for food, 3pm we were still waiting, we'd done about 3 sets of toilet runs, on the 3rd set I had to get the lads out of the back office, they were all playing on phones...

We then ended up haveing to do pass the parcel round the table (luckly we'd made a 2nd set of parcels by error).

The lads came back in at 3.30pm, I asked about the bouncy castle, they didn't put it up to 3.45pm, by the time it inflated it was 3.50..course by then parents were coming to pick up the kids,

Got rid of the parents, asked to see the manager, who turned out to be the supervisior who was skiving with the 2 lads when they had their extended break!! They even admitted the party was a shambles, and they didn't know how they would of managed without the couple helping them!

They came out with hope it didn't spoil her birthday, lucky its not till end of the month, but theres a complaint going into the council (they run the sports centre). Its not the principal of the money we paid £45, which is fab value for everything (sports hall, 2 people doing the party, 3/4hr bouncy castle), coz of my health restrictions, I knew that I couldn't manage to organise party games, etc, so this was a perfect compromise.

Course back at school today, dd came home upset, apparently the kids had siad her party wasn't gd, there not going to another of hers, so thats been fun + games. xx

  • So sorry to hear they mucked things up for you as a Mum I would be furious like you so go at em!

Just re read the last line what a shame about the kids. Just say to DD that next year you will have a special party for her real friends. If you get a refund which I think you should may be a day out with her best friend?

I've suggested next yr she goes bowling with a few friends, then if she can't get the list to 4 kids!! then I'd go a Sat am cinema jobbie, £1.00 movies for juniors, and a goodie bag. She seems ok with that.

If (hopefully) we get a refund said I'd take her + friend to the pictures and to the pub for a meal (got £12.99 voucher, 2 adult meals, 2 kids meals, garlic bread and combo pud), that way can take the other mum and we both get a break.

Its a pain literally, as becoz of the standing argueing with the lads, its pulled the muscles in my thigh, rang gp - couldn't get over the front door step, apart from him laughing, (at me kicking off), he said its got to heal itself in time!

It can only happen to me! x
