Thank you. Its almost doubly bad becuase i'm trying to lose weight with Slimming World too at the moment, so eating a chinese isn't going to help (though i was fairly restrained on the lovely deep fried starters!).

But i have also realised that it is a tired week for me and that no-one is perfect and i need to cut myself some slack and stop beating myself up about things.

    We are all only human.

I have suffered with depression in the past (still taking the tablets but slowly coming off them) so beating myself up about things which happen to everyone isn't going to get me very far and possibly make me ill. All I can say is that I will make small efforts where i can.

Thank you for your help and encouragement.

That's something I'm very bad at .... keep telling myself the same thing - but somehow it never seems to work on myself

You must be relieved to be slowly weaning off the tablets though ?, I know my mum used to say that she thought they made her feel worse at times :(

Errrrrmmmm, whatever gave you THAT idea  :rotfl: Yeah, my very regal boy, and a feisty (read that as pain in the neck) girly :D They are addictive, I'd love to have more - but will have to wait until things are more stable. :p

    Hi there!

Well, its not been so good today... I bought a new red mac and some red shoes in M&S. have been feeling frumpy, so decided that spending my birthday money on these was a good idea for a bit of a boost (have been [STRIKE]needing [/STRIKE]wanting a lightweight mac for ages and work shoes are on their way out). Thing is, the birthday money doesn't cover it (£41 short). I'm not sure what to do about this.....

    1. Take them both back and save my money
    2. Take one item back (shoes were £25, mac was £70)
    3. Ebay stuff to pay the extra
    4. Take the £41 out of my next month's personal spending budget
    5. Ignore it and hope it goes away / get slowly overdrawn again.

Option 5 isn't really an option of course.

I'm uncertain as to what I will get paid this month (see earlier post). Hopefully the week's extra pay will cover this while still allowing me to pay a good chunk of my credit card.

Oh dear - clothes shopping is my downfall. I know I need to stop, and i am an awful lot better than I was. I find it very difficult and need a kick up the backside really. It's all connected with how i feel about myself.

    Any tips?

Help / gentle kicks / nudges in the right direction gratefully recieved....

PS Greyhound angel - i would love another greyhound. Meg is great but i think she'd be happer with another dog around, though she does see our cats as small furry dogs / people I think. They are certainly part of 'her pack' and don't get chased, while any other cat is fair game if i give her half a chance! Are your two like that?
I don't think we'll be getting another dog though. OH didn't want the first one (though he loves her now) and it caused a lot of arguments, so i don't want to push it.

Just a quick update - I paid £900 off my credit card yesterday, so i'm really chuffed with that! it was money saved to see us through when i was redundant (then no longer needed as i got a job v quickly) and a bit extra from my first pay packet.

I've been douing some budgetting and may be able to pay a bit more off now. need to do the sums first though!

Well done on that fab £900 payment. Absolutely fantastic. You sound very organised and on top of things. Don't fret about the odd weak moment, they happen to us all and you are doing great.
