My local poundstretchers are now selling ladybird stuff, if you have one local why not call in with receipt if you still have it and try them. If no receipt just explain what happened and can they help. HTH

My daughter bought a Mothercare pushchair from a discount local shop.
This has one of those tags on, which sets off the alarm in certain shops. It's so embarrassing, that I avoid those shops now.

How can she get it removed? She doesn't have a receipt as far as I know, and definately not one from Mothercare.

If its a tag with ink in then if you pop them in the freezer for a bit before trying to remove it you should minimize the risk of staining. For actually getting it off, there must be a few unscrupulous websites which would tell you how to do it surely?

All this for a £3 pair of trousers? :rotfl:

Just get a pair of pliers and pull the tag off.

Your not meant to do it though. I work for Sainsbury's and someone came in and set the alarm off they found out it was due to a tag that was left on an item of clothing they had purchased. So the person I was with in the Kiosk offered to take it off for them before the Security Guard came over and had a go at him and told him we're not allowed to take tags from other stores off even if the person has a receipt as we can get in trouble with the other store. The store manager came over afterwards as well and said the same.

    Oopsie... I know next time!

this happened to us when we bought clothes from the US a few years back. Find a shop with the same security device and make sure you take the receipt with you

Have you tried gently twisting the large part of the tag? A lot of the ones (mainly the black/grey circular ones not the cream rectangle) we had at woolies don't go on properly and you'll find they just unscrew. Becareful though.

This makes it look really easy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRIqwSOeVXU Otherwise just search "how to remove security tag", it can't be that hard I found a blog where someone said her three year old did it in woolworths all the time!
