I have just bought a flext contract and I want to keep my old number. If I get my PAC code will this be possible?

It is possible - I did it myself a few weeks ago
Just call your old provider for the PAC code and then phone T-Mobile Customer Services for free on 150 (using your new T-Mobile phone).
It will take 7 working days.0
