Question about mobile contract

A few days ago I signed up, in store, for an 18 month contract with 3 but I want to change my contract (go down in minutes but up in internet).
I am now aware that because I got it in store, that I am not entitled to a cooling off period, however, I was not made of aware of this when signing up for the contract (I believed that I did have that entitlement because I browsed for the right kind of contract on the internet, which advertises a cooling off period. I didn't realise that it didn't apply to me until I tried to change my plan). And actually, I wasn't given any terms of contract before signing; I didn't even sign an actual contract, it was a computer print off of my transaction (on which there are no terms or conditions).
Is that allowed?

You don't need to sign anything to agree the contract. By paying the fee you agree the terms and conditions. No cooling off period applies if you purchase in store. If the package you want is cheaper they won't let you move, if it's the same price they probably will.No free lunch, and no free laptop
