Bought 2 packs of teacakes and the first one i made a sarnie, bit into it and noticed a black lump, on inspection it was a cockroach a baby one dead in the bread ... felt sick, threw the whole 48 teacakes out and won't buy their bread again.

You mean you didn't go screaming to Morrison's for compensation? That makes a refreshing change.0

It doesn't bother me really. As I wrote a while back in a different thread, I grew up in the country and most food came from a local farm or the garden so I've seen it all. Pick out the offending creature and carry on eating!0

You should really have taken some photos, frozen it and reported it to your local environmental health department as this is a pretty major thing. Something is obviously going wrong at the bakery where this bread is produced for that to happen. The bakery is most likely producing bread for lots of different brands.
Compared to normal sniffles about unhelpful staff and prices being put up I think this is a genuine issue!0 -

My daughter and son in law bought some dips from Morrisons in June. They were well within the sell by date. When they dipped the crisps in one part of the container it tasted a bit strange and when they dipped another crisp in it, they found a solid jelly kind of lump.:eek::eek:
They took it straight back to the shop and really got given the brush off with a £5 gift card. Anyway today they received a letter from the lab, telling them that no food poisoning was found and thanks for shopping at Morrisons :mad::mad:. They didn't bother to say what it was and no sign of an apology. Grrr :mad:0 -
Mmm maybe i will dig through my rubbish and find it, take some pics and go for compensation thenOwed out = lots. :cool:0

these things happen unfortunately, with the best will in the world you cant watch every piece of bread or tea cake that comes down the production line and cockroaches and other beasties can slip in. All the cleaning and hygiene procedures in the world wont stop a solitary roach on a kamikaze mission
OP, take a photo, email it to Morrisons CS and await your £5 voucher and be grateful you didn't think it was a raisin lol0
