Do you know someone with a camera phone who can take a picture of you, then print if off for you?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I don't have one and I can't afford to get new ones done.
What should I do? I have no money, I'm unemployed at the moment and really need to get a job.
This interview could lead to a job but I fear if I can't even produce the documents asked for at interview they will dismiss me pretty must straight up.
They also ask for id, national insurance number with proof, p45 and proof of address. I can give them all that but just not the photo.
Is it really important do you think? Could I just blag it say I've got one, look in my bag and not be able to find it?

jobcentre may be able to help fund it if you can prove you need it for the interview. Phone your nominated jobcentre person and ask.Wealth, like happiness, is never attained when sought after directly.
It comes as a by-product of providing a useful service.

Perhaps I'm just overly suspicious but I wouldn't be bringing ANY of that to an interview. You haven't yet been offered a position but they want a passport photo, ID (passport or driving licence I assume?), NI number, P45 and proof of address?! With that lot, I'm afraid you are simply handing them your identity on a plate!
Quite a few places I have worked have asked for those things if they are anticipating a quick start or the interview is just a formality. I brought them for my interview at the cinema and need them for my mcdonalds interview tomorrow.
If you can take the photo on your camera what about going to a photo kiosk at boots or something , not sure if they can do passport sizebut might be worth asking and is about 20p for a print?

It's pretty common I think to be asked to take some of this to an interview. The P45 I don't quite get, but the rest of it is fine. When I worked in recruitment we asked candidates to bring passport/driving licence, proof of address and things like that. Why would they want to bother interviewing you if you don't have the right to work in the UK? Also it means they can start the pre-employment checks right away.0 -
If you do end up going to the interview without a photo... please just be honest. Don't fake looking in your bag, this won't come across well and might even make you look forgetful or unreliable. Honesty is the best policy here so just say that you couldn't affort to have passport photographs taken.
Best of luck with the interview.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
I don't really understand why they need a photo. If I were you I would take in my passport and say that "I am very sorry but I haven't had the opportunity to get a photograph, however I have brought my passport which you are welcome to copy if required".
Also I would ask them to explain why they need a photo in the first place?
Good luck with the interview0 -
Interviews for the DWP also require all ID, including photo. I have seen them refuse interview when people turned up without a photo.0

If the interview is something of a formality, then fair enough, having everything to hand for an "immediate start" is not a bad idea. But I personally would not want any "prospective" employer (who has not yet offered me a job) having copies of my passport, NI number and home address on their system – I think that's just asking for trouble!
And if you DON'T get offered the job, do you know (a) what their policy for handling personal data is, and (b) whether they actually DO remove it from their systems? If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0
