Motorola Pebl u6 phone unlock

Can anyone tell me how easy or otherwise it is to unlock above phone.It is locked to Orange network at the moment and asks for a subsidy code when i put another network sim card?.

you can get a code from a motorola database code supplier but you are looking at £25ish but safe and warrenty still ok
or you can get a direct unlock but it is a testpount job which means opening your phone and cutting the shield to gain access to testpoint area -not for the fainthearted and will void warrenty - about £18
