make sure you buy them in the tabacs in your holiday resort in Spain, if you leave it until
the airport on the way back they cost about 20% more.0 -
See the latest price list is dated 1/8/9 and the prices haven't dropped yet. Hopefully come September and the end of the main holiday season they will go back down again otherwise the smokers in the family wont be getting tobacco for xmas.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Limit is over 3000 in Spain0 -
No such thing as a limit from a full EU member you can have what you want as long as its for your own personal consumption or for giftsLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0

HMRC are not bothered about a carton or two. They are after serious smugglers i.e. those that travel frequently and sell 1000's of cartons etc. Officially there is no limit that a person can import from another EU country for their own use. Reselling is a different matter.0

Just got back from Ibiza and 200 Royals were 27.50 €uros and Golden Vitginia 10x50g was 48.50 €uros, the tobacco at the airport was 60 €uros0

but you are not allowed to sell them - even to relatives: presumably you can give them away.
Then they can still buy them, then give them away?
No - You are technically smuggling even if you give them away. You are assisting the recipient to avoid paying duty.
Duty free (Alcohol & tobacco) is limited - Duty paid in another country is unlimited FOR PERSONAL USE that is the person bringing the stuff not anyone else.
Yes as a previous poster says "you'll be ok" but you'd be lying (thats smuggling!) as again it is for your use, no one else.
Phatbear is not correct, you cannot gift imported good or duty free items - it is for personal use. And is right that it is unlimited - for personal use - and not just EU - anywhere as the "limits" are for importing into the UK.
FLUFFYCHEZ - Per person. if you "spread" it over several cases you are smuggling! your Limit Duty free (bought on ferry/aircraft) is 200 cigarettes per trip (i.e. 200 Dover to Calais & 200 Calais to Dover) however duty paid in another country is unlimited for personal use (i.e. buy in France & you can bring back as much as you want for PERSONAL use!
REMEMBER - Duty Free does not mean profit free - The airline/ferry company know how much you pay in the UK and then sell duty free for £20 less per carton. As many countries have remarkably less duty rates it can be cheaper to by in the country rather than on the plane/ferry.
i.e. Virgin Atlantic sells 200 cigs = £35-40 per carton

Excuse me!!!
If you knew anything about me you would know im a customs officer, ukba officer as we are now, and as such are probably in a better position to comment than you are.
Allow me to clear up your confusion.
"you can bring in a unlimited amount of most goods in to the UK etc etc as long as they are for your own use and transported by you. "own use" means for your own personal consumption or gifts"
see "gifts"
If you dont have faith in this please feel free to refer to a notice 1.

Your final sentence makes no sense but allow me to explain that you can bring what you want from the EU as long as its for your own personal consumption or for gifts. From a non eu state you can have 200 cigs or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250grms of HRT, these can be combined.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
quick Q are tobacco and cigarettes the same price in the Isle of Man as in the UK?
Thanks Stan0
