This is the Daily Thread for Mon 3rd August! This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good

Morning.

Dull, windy and cloudy here. Rain forcast and rubbish summer continues.

Spent most of the day on the sofa yesterday with stomach pains and feverish. Horrible feeling especially when Daughter came home with Dominios pizza and I could not eat any of it.

Work today and I might take a half day. Nothing much else new here.

Good morning.

Early start - off to work in a minute & not back until 9 tonight so no OS-ing today. Made up for it yesterday though - chicken, nut loaf, bread pudding & apple&blackberry crumble all made to see us through these two days. Also tried HM potato wedges for first time last night - delish!
Right, just have time to finish coffee & put together a large packed lunch.

Hope you get your half day of work N9eav as you had such a rubbish Sunday.

We had a good day yesterday, wandering round London in the lovely sunshine. Think the forcast is good for today too so will go and get some washing on.

Need to pick up OH from Dartford in a while as he has dropped a van up there. This is our week of major change at work and think it will be a stressful one. We have done everything we can to prepare but our local depot havnt so it will be interesting to say the least.

For the rest of the day I will be concentrating on office work and OH is going to do some housework apparantly. I also need to menu plan Mon - Thurs as we are off to Pontins Friday :j I always look forward to holidays but this is the first time I have ever really felt that I need a holiday.

Havnt caught up on yesterdays thread so hope everyone is ok.

Morning everyone.
Dry, cloudy but still bright. Was supposed to have light rain yesterday and never got a drop. Will probably piddle it down today since kids are better and could do with getting out rather than being cooped up.......
Not much going on here either. Usual round of tidying, sweeping, washing etc etc.
Going to cook some mince, lentils etc in SC as am bulk cooking some cottage pies for the kids. Not sure what I will do us for tea, maybe some fish baked in tom sauce.
DD is definately on the mend, back to her usual self and no temp at all so am pleased about that.
Off to check out the Flylady thread and see what's in store for today - oh joy

N9eav - hope you're feeling better soon.

Well its lovley and dry here today at the moment but its not as nice as it was this time yesterday.
The twins are off to my moms house today as iv got a few things i need to try and get done. NUmber1 of them is to try and cut the lawn as over the last two weeks its shot up:eek: and badley needs doing.
I had a cheak on how my onions were growing yesterday and its not all good. a few have done very well but others have not. still there is still a bit more time for them to grow so we will see what happens.


We i hope that evryones well. and that thoese of you with flu are getting better.

Good morning,

another one off to work here. I did some gardening yesterday, and the only things doing really well are the weeds. I think everything else could do with a bit of sunshine.

Ds and I made some shortbread yesterday, and I managed to tidy the house and do the washing and ironing, so luckily there's only dinner to make when I make it home this afternoon.

Morning all
Bright & sunny hereat the moment. Hubby's on earlies so he had his bacon & egg & been dropped at work. 1st load of washing is on the line & 2nd lot in the WM, have lots of washing to do as DS dropped his off yesterday, I shall miss his visits when he gets his own machine.
I'm budgie sitting this week, the bird should be with me this afternoon sometime.
Tes will be leftovers from Sunday lunch so no real cooking for me today.

N9eav - Hope that you and all the other poorlies are feeling better today.

This morning it was still dark when i got up :eek: i had got used to lovely sunny mornings so it`s a bit depressing really, the last time that i did the early shift it was sunny so it shows how things are changing already.

After yesterdays mad garden fest my back is still a bit achy so i stood underneath the shower for a good ten minutes this morning to warm it up and it has actually worked - feels much better now.

DH and the houndies will be home at some point today, probably later rather than sooner if the weather holds and i have to go and pick up a water butt on the way home. I managed to reserve the last slimline one including stand and connectors from Argos after seeing it on HUKD for under £20 yesterday but i hope that it will fit into my tiny car, i can imagine myself stood in the middle of the shopping precinct with a huge item and nowhere to put it

Person number 4 went home sick from w*rk yesterday with the piggy flu, i was speaking to him only a few hours before so i had an enormous dose of vitamins this morning to help ward off any nasties.

Right i need to catch up on my w*rk now, Scuzz - Hope that your doggie is better this morning ((((HUGS))))

Morning all

Lovely here too, I am at work today but got 2 loads of washing out before I set off and have another in which I will put out when I get home. Have to make the most of the good weather whenever we get it!

Chicken something for tea not sure what yet, have taken chicken fillets out of freezer anyway so can decide when I get in.

Have brought a hm scone for breakfast to eat at work here as I did not have time to eat before setting off, will make a nice coffee shortly and have it before the day becomes manic. Mondays are always bad but I do have to say that the swine flu phone line has taken some of the pressure off:D

Morning Chums ,my DD has her scan this morning to see if she has gall stones so I shall be at the hospital with her for most of the morning. I shall take a book as I know how long the queues get there. weather's not looking too bad at the moment but with this 'barbeque summer' who knows .
John Lewis's food hall opens on Thursday at Bluewater so I am having a trip there with my eldest DD to see what they have, doubt if I'll buy much but DD want's to go so it will be a trip out.
Have organised my freezer and listed the contents of same, plus two of my store cupboards, only one more to do and then I am completely sorted and I will know what I have in store.
Only just over two more weeks until our holiday hope the weather brightens up a bit for then.
