The job was to visit somewhere and to be approached by a member of staff to join a company membership scheme. Basically the job was to evaluate and report on the sale of the scheme and if I found it satisfactory, I was to take out the membership which would be refunded at a later date. In the brief I was meant to upload an admission receipt which I didn't get because when I joined the scheme, the entry was free. I did however upload the paperwork of the DD for the membership but am unsure whether this will suffice as an admission receipt. Any thoughts? I know it is a bit difficult without seeing the brief and I'm not sure whether this post is too vague or not vague enough!

If you mentioned not being given a ticket somewhere in the report, that should be fine. I'm guessing it's a tourist attraction type place (you're vague enough - just don't mention the actual client's name). If you weren't able to mention it, I'd send them an email explaining.

If there was an amount for reimbursement of the ticket they may not pay this, since you didn't buy one - different companies have different policies on this (RE for example only refund what you spent, GAP on the other hand always pay you the full reimbursement regardless of expenditure).

One tip I would give, keep an eye on your bank account (online?) and make sure this DD doesn't get set up, and if it does, cancel it. MS companies are usually pretty good at doing these things but it doesn't hurt to be extra careful!

Me neither  but I saw them last time

I can see them but am 6 months too young to do them (I am 29). Obviously only people over 30 buy vehicles  (sorry, this is the first time I've been a victim of age discrimination!)

  • My amusing story of the day:

Did one of the Student Accommodation jobs for RE. Or at least I tried to...I phoned the number given and asked about accommodation as per the brief. A very helpful lady explained that she could take my details and they would contact me again when the accommodation had been built. The second part of the assignment is to go for a tour...better get my hard hat ready! :rotfl:

I am quite used to being sent to places that have closed down...but this is the first time I have been sent to somewhere that doesn't even exist yet.

    Hi all.

I've been reading this thread over the last night or two as I had my first MS assignment today. I've picked up some good tips, thanks for the info! However I'm a bit worried that I have messed it up though and wondered if any of you more experienced MSers could give me any feedback.

The job was to visit somewhere and to be approached by a member of staff to join a company membership scheme. Thanks.
You'll be fine. I did one of these last year. I was told also that if they sent me the membership cards in the post I was return them to the MS company via post. Unfortunately they didn't appear in the post. It would have been lovely to use them all year long for nothing! Anyway, getting back to the query. Just tell them in your report what you they gave you and why. The MS company you did this assignment with is the best one going in my opinion. They are very understanding and fair.

I'm a year older than you and I can see them... Perhaps they're for men only or something (apologies if you're not a girly...;)).

Can you check on Google Streetview? I did that once :p

Hehe - I did a burger shop today too, the girl asked me if I wanted a receipt and the guy bringing the food to the counter had a grin on his face, I just knew he knew :D

Also had the floor under my table swept and they were rushing around like mad cleaning, and had my tray taken from my table for me when I had finished :rotfl:

On a previous job the manager came over and asked me if I enjoyed my meal and stood by the stairs to wish me goodbye :D
What! You didn't get a balloon?!?!?

I definately think it's men only. I am 40 pretty much in the middle but obviously female.
