Leaving AOL

Hi

I have decided to leave AOL and switch to bt due to connection issues.
I sent off an email today to request my MAC code and I have just received an email from AOL explaining that we are tied in the contract until 18th October, we have been with them for 10 years!!! Does anyone have any experience with leaving AOL early at a cost? if so how much was it?
I was certain when I last phoned up we were tied for a year, not 18 months...

i was with aol was tied in for 18 month and i had to pay £65 to leave got my mac the same day by email i did it all over the phone
