I posted about a week and abit ago, conserning, being turned down for DLA, so I sent them a letter, well my mate wrote it while I dictated it to her.
It was three pages long (with a few extra documents), will they still read it, will they still look at the documents from 1991/1994/1997? most importantly will they look at my blackouts log? I am really worrying over this. I have been on DLA since it started, and to have it taken away after such a long time, isnt fair.... My condition isnt going to get better.... My mum was told when I was younger that I wouldnt live passed my 18th Birthday, I am 24 (in 14 days)..... But I couldnt find the letter to prove this, but they wouldnt really look at it anyway would they?!!
I am still miffed (am I aloud to use that word?? - sorry if its not aloud), with there dission, and I am really starting to get impastant with them.... I asked for a letter to say they got the documents I sent, but guess what? NO LETTER.... They got it Tuesday 28th July! (I know this is I posted the letter recorded del.)
So my question is:-
Has anyone been on mobility since it started and have had it taken from them resently?

DWP won't be interested in documents going back to 1991 & it's unrealistic to expect them to acknowledge that they have received your documents. You have to bear in mind that they get thousands of letters each day containing documents & supporting evidence & it's an impossible task to send out acknowledgements to every person who writes in enclosing stuff. As long as you photocopied everything you sent in then that should be enough. You said yourself that you sent it recorded,so that is the proof that it's been received.
Any letter saying you should of died by a certain age will have no merit as the fact is you didn't die & are still here, so the prognosis was incorrect.
If the documents you sent contain additional evidence that is current, then DWP will look at it & give it consideration for your reconsideration or appeal, if appealing is what you are doing. This will include your log of blackouts if recent occurances.
If they received the documents on 28th July, then you have to give them a few weeks before you will get a response, due to the level of work each decision maker has to undertake. They have a lot of paperwork to plough through everyday with more & more people now trying to claim DLA.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I posted my renewal forms on May 13. I rang up today as its now 12 weeks and they said:-
The current wait for DLA is 15 weeks....
hey ho, I did notice they were working on a Saturday too, so they must be so streched at the mo.0 -

I really hate DLA. I got my decision and wrote to them asking them to reconsider and heard nothing other than the we will write to you withinn 11 weeks letter. I then had a routin appointment and I ask my consultant if they had been in touch he said no so I called them and they said they has sent me a decision letter the 6 weeks ago, i said i never received it and how could they make a decision without taking advice from my GP or consultant. they said they would arrange for the letter to be sent out. 4 days later I received the letter saying they believed the decision to be correct and it goes on to say even although you have difficulties with mobility, cannot walk further than 20 meters unaided, cannot walk on unever surfaces, cannot walk unaided in unfamiliar places blahblah blah listing lots of other things i cannot do you are not entitled to the mobility component of DLA.
I feel the system is weighted in a way to discourage those who really need help from getting it.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

Appeal against the decision0 -
Really Joycie is there a point?? I did get awarded lower care component without a quibble. I think half the problem is I am not very good at admitting, or explaining the help i actually do need. I have a meeting with occupational Health next week. I may ask the nurse wht he/she thinksMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

DLA seem to have a policy at the moment of rejecting most claims to force you to appeal before a formal appeal it is worth sending in a please relook at my claim letter speak to all your specialists (legally DLA are not obliged to contact your specialists only your g.p if they are unsure of something after reading the form) and get them to do you a report outlining ur current conditions and how they affect you include these with the relook at my claim letter and make sure you mention all documents you have included in original letter, I have a sister with a disability who having been on higher rate mobility and lower rate care when it came up for review even though she uses a wheelchair they said she was entitled to no DLA and thats what we did and it went back to higher rate mobility and up to middle rate care. I also work with adults with disabilities and have had a few ones that should be simple renewals that had come back no longer entitled or entitled to less but going about it this way seemed to get them the correct entitlement.0
