Had a response from my local MP!
"Thank you for your interesting emailed letter regarding insurers, bankrupts and ex-bankrupts.
Having read your letter, I have a great measure of sympathy and as a consequence have forwarded a copy of your letter to the Conservative Treasury Frontbench for their consideration.
Hopefully, after the next General Election, these individuals may be in the Treasury and responsible for new legislation. It would appear to me that your suggestions should be given due consideration."
How great is that?!
Wondered if the title of this thread should be changed to make it more relevant so that people read and write in!0 -
Thats brilliant wayforward!
I agree about the change of the title of this thread. up to the OP to do that though!Look down your nose at me and I thumb my nose back at you.

Thanks all for the work you've put in so far. I think it's inspired about writing to notable bankrupts. I've changed the thread title and also put a poll on here so people can announce when they've written, this may increase encouragement if others can see it's turning into a big movement.
What we need to do now we have the ball rolling, and it looks like there are a considerable number of us wanting to get this change, is make sure we keep up the inertia - we don't stop, we ask friends and family to join our fight, and we don't let this go the way of online petitions (which in my opinion count for nothing, personal stories fit better every time and are taken far more seriously).
The power we have in this forum is immense. It's time bankrupts took back some control against these corporations who tread on them like dirt. I've rarely seen so many people so angry with a specific issue as this, let's hang onto that anger and show the people in power we mean business.0 -
I will be writing.:j
I completely agree with this. My comparison will also be the way in which bankrupts are treated against criminals. Eg, teh Jamie Bulger killers are released and given a whole new identity, so their identity is protected as a pair of murderers but as Bankrupts our information is there to be seen by everybody. Isnt it discrimination if you dont employ an ex convict? Suelet it is discrimination against bankrupts to be treated in this way?0 -
Excellent iam in and writing now...!
MOVE ALONG........ nothing to see here..!

I've just sent a pile in the post too!
This may have already been suggested but is it worth posting one of those petitions on the Downing street website for eveybody to sign up to? If enough people sign it then it'll get noticed surely?
