Here is brief outline of the utter incompetence and lack of care I have encountered with Vodafone PLC.

I run a small wholesaling business, so I took out a small business package for the company phones six months ago, the existing phones were under a domestic one, which is costing me about £300 a month. They were supposed to stop the domestic one and move the numbers into the business one, 4 times I have filled out the same form! 10 + phone calls, nothing has changed, I have been paying for £90 a month for business package with over 2000 minutes in it that nobody has been using, I am still paying my £300 for other phones it wouldn’t be so high if it was in the business package but nobody cares!!!

I have wasted so much time trying to get this changed, honestly hours on the phone, numerous forms, doing all this carry on, it might even run into days now!! Ill never get that time back! Its gone forever! I have considered employing a hacker to crack into their system and legitimately update my details (that’s a joke VODAFONE People)

Anyway that’s the main gripe but here are some of the stupid things they’ve done in past two weeks, I started a new guy, phoned up for his phone, they sent it, NO SIM, phoned up for a SIM, told to go into shop, they gave him a SIM, but never allocated a phone number to it, phoned up VODAFONE for a number they allocated a number to the SIM, it didn’t work, phoned up VODAFONE for another number, they allocated another number, it didn’t work, phoned up VODAFONE again they put the number for someone else who works for me on his SIM, which basically turned their phone off. I phoned up VODAFONE turns out there is now three totally random numbers on this account which I have been trying to transfer stuff into for 6 months- NICE!!

I lost my phone last Friday have to admit my fault was a bit tipsy, phoned VODAFONE as I have insurance, they said they would call back and arrange new phone, have heard nothing, no phone, no surprise! bought a cheap phone anyway and went to shop to get a new SIM, which I get turned my number onto as I need to keep same number for business. Guy in the phone shop asks me my number, give it to him, he turns on someone else who works in the companies number onto my SIM/phone, he then says he cannot undo what he just done, he does it right 2nd time. I then need to drive over to the person house who’s phone has just switched off as I have their SIM card and give them that, they lose all there address book saved on SIM!

I have to admit I find it funny how bad they are but it has actually cost me a lot of time and money.

What I have done is go to to companies house and pay a pound to find out the names and addresses of every single director of Vodafone, I am going to write a letter detailing what it is I would like them to change on my account and send the forms for the 5th time as well recorded delivery to each of them, Vodafone CEO Guy Lawrence the whole lot, I am also going to fax the letter 20 times along with the forms and also direct them to this website to read my rant. This will cost me a bit of cash but its costing me loads extra anyway.

Do you think this will get me noticed and my situation resolved?

I agree - but sometimes you have to. Lee has been very good, and has undertaken to keep an eye on things for me for the fist month just to make sure I'm charged what I should be charged.

It seems that a lot of Vodafone customers are struggling with being charged differently to what they think they should be.

Put it up on there Vodafone eforum site here. The Vodafone Mods seem to be more active there and for some reason Vodafone seem to take more notice when a complaint about them is put up on their own web site.:D

The eForum team are based in the UK and have more powers (they sorted out my problems for me) but you have to be more patient.

The call centre guys are basically script monkeys, they can only tell you what they get on the screen.

So, write a calm collected email/post to the eForum team with all the details chronologically. Always take a name of the person you speak to, make a note of the time and date of the call and you're covered. :)

thanks for advice, Six months to get a problem sorted is pretty patient!!

I just sound really impatient as I have completely lost it with them now, I have spent too long on the phone getting nowhere! trouble is they are so big they just do not care, I have 7 phone contracts, they still take no notice, I know lots of other small business people who I could try and get to leave but even at that, I would have to make it my mission in life to talk people out of going with vodafone, then maybe a few hundred thousand in lost revenue, thats nothing to them!
