Hopefully Sarah Beeny could be brought in to advise at the last moment.Quite possibly they'll take the 15k loan and buy a house. Spend everything they have on reonvation and then find themselves £30k over budget and unable to sell. So they move into the property until the market "picks up".

The mrs is watching Coronation Street from last night and they have a young couple who have just got a 15K loan for a deposit to buy a flat, do it up and sell it on for profit.
The script went something like this:
BOY: Excellent - we have been approved for the loan
MUM: Why are you getting yourself into debt
BOY: We need a loan for the deposit, we will never save up for it
MUM: It's because of people living beyond their means that caused the credit crunch.
BOY: So what, we want the flat.
MUM: Why are you rushing into this.
BOY: It's business, we are going to do it up and sell it for a huge profit.
MUM: Can't you wait?
BOY: No we need to buy while prices are low because they will start to rise soon.
I can't believe this crap is scripted into a mainstream soap.
