When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
:D:p:D

Morning All

Hello to everyone else who posts today. Hugs to those that need them

Glad it's Saturday -feeling a bit slower today!

Today I have/will:
• Checked online banking
• Meals from storecupboards
• I should be able to work on publishing my 101 list and download photo's to it
• When I eventually get home look at my CV and jazz it up a bit (obviously not lying though) :o - this has been on my list for the past couple of days, I will make time to do this this this weekend
• Start writing an interview pack – comments on how I can sell myself, questions to ask etc :j - this has been on my list for the past couple of days, I will make time to do this this this weekend
• While I am on the internet catch up on yesterday’s forum
* Food shopping today (monthly big shop) - we already have a list and I will look at what we are buying and see if we can reduce wherever possible (I will eat breakfast before I go so that I am not tempted to buy breakfast out)

Think that is about it…..have a great day everyone

    Hi everyone, as I said yesterday I have fallen off the bandwagon a bit lately, this weekend should be a quiet one though. I will
    - return DS library books and get him some more out
    - eat some yoghurt that is only just out of date
    - picked up a £15 profit mystery shop, do it in town when I go to the library
    - if I can find a big enough box, I will post an ebay item, if not I will "acquire" a box from Lidl
    - cook from stores
    - cancelled my credit expert membership

    Larger things I need to do
    - declutter, put some stuff on ebay
    - go through some bank statements
    - transfer paypal balance to bank account
    - transfer some money from one bank account to the other, I am skint!

    Thanks for starting the thread Candy0107 and congrats to Lottebear on the bargain coffee maker - mhhhh, coffee!

    I'm not up to much on the DFW front today - will just be a nice relaxing LSD (low spend day!) with a trip to the chemist for toiletries and a leisurely home cooked dinner with my lovely GF. Good times :beer:

    Hi all - not been on here for a while as life seems to have taken over my internet activity for a bit!

    Anyhoo, so far this weekend, I have checked some Ebay listings I have made - 5 DVD sets which I'm selling to make room more than anything,
    Have shredded my RBoS credit card as the balance of it has been cleared (I've had it for about 6 years so seeing goodbye to this has been a long time coming!);
    Checked my creditexpert status as I've recently been offered a reduced subscription through my employers - not all account details have transferred across so it doesn't show my RBoS which I've just paid up and have emailed them about this;
    Just filed a load of correspondence from the Egg credit card I've just closed (the official closure date is 3rd August and it's only taken me 13 messages to them for them to actually close it (whcih I'm really peeved about - they only agreed to close it when I asked for them to confirm in writing whether it was an effort to deliberately keep my account open despite my requests and a balance of zero). Ironically, I was one of the customers told many moons ago that they were closing my account - chacne would be a fine thing!
    Checked Valued Opinions and my balance is £7.65 so hopefully not far away from a reward;
    Did a Yougov survey on football which earned me a £1!
    Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
