We went to Kos 2 years ago at the end of October and, although it was absolutely pouring the day we arrived, after about 2 hours the sky cleared and we had a fab week of sunshine. Speaking to people who had been at the hotel the week before, they had had rain/thunder and lightening. Personally, I would go again at that time of year.

We went to Kos late September, the heavens opened and we only had a couple of good days

what about sardinia? anyone been there this time of year? found a really cheap flight and it looks a lovely place.

Been to the north of Sardinia in mid September and over half the places were shut for the winter althoughthe weather was great and the sea nice and warm, they get most visitors from mainland Italy from June to the end of August.
Not sure what the south is like around Cagliari but accomodation is quite expensive

I am looking at Fuerteventura for the half term, but I am going to go about 21st to make flights cheaper (even though it is taking them out of school!). Couple of days wont harm them.

Turkey is warm during the day but may become a bit chilly at night,and you may get some good prices on private villas. I found one that was offering the 2nd week Half price it was in a village near Fethiye called Uzumlu if you do a search for uzumlu villa you may find it. Also agean flights have are advertising Birmingham-Dalaman return for £280pp
