How much to replace Baxi boiler with combi boiler?

Hi,
We are selling our house and after several months the buyers have decided that they would like a price reduction as they would wish to replace the current Baxi back boiler with a combi boiler. They are quoting £3k to have the new boiler installed, disposal of tank and new pipes and are asking for about £2.5k off the agreed sale price. Is this a realistic quote or are they just using it as an excuse to knock our price down?
Thanks in advance,
Mandy.

Good morning: Conversion from a BBU/ open vented system to a combi/sealed system, if done properly, is a labour intensive job...this is reflected in the cost. £3000+ isn't unusual down here in the southeast.
...and they are trying to knock the price down.;)

Sorry but if the present boiler and system is working OK, then why should you have to reduce your price to pay for this work? They might want to build a tennis court in the back garden too-would it be reasonable to ask you to pay for this?
If they want to haggle over the price then that is fair enough, but that should be linked to any defects that a survey might throw up-not to 'improvements'.
For all you know they may have no intention of carrying out the work.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I'm with macman they knew about the boiler when they agreed the price.Nothing to see here, move along.0
