Enjoy your me-time Shaun! Why not slap on a facepack and crack open a box of chocs while you're at it?

having young kids means generally i dont get time to myself,,,have to remember im slightly disabled to have the energy or muscle co ordination to shave everyday would be like winning the lotto!!most evening when the kids go to bed i curl up in pain or seize up, doing something like shaving is painfull ,,
as for the feet,,,,i can only half walk now,,,,keeping my feet healthy is very importent to my mobility,,,
    something i treasure greatly..
the difference is i know that in 15 years i will be totally disabled,,,either the knee will go,,,,even with replacement surgary they only give you 15yrs,,,,no second units!
or my lungs will clapse,,,because i cant exersice proparly

Shaun, thats horrible, I had no idea it was that bad for you, tho I knew you had problems. Is the pain in your feet too? Can you manage to do any self-massage, or is that too painful too?

  • Sounds rough Shaun. So draining and then with littleuns as well. I dont think my OH could cope with babies anymore.

Well done on first steps ES and love the bit about the stopwatches.

You just have to do what you can do, and try and keep on exercising the bits that still work within the constraints of pain and stiffness. I think the little ones will more than keep you active, especially now the smallest has discovered independent motion! I meant it about the facepack by the way - you really have to spoil yourself when you get the chance! is there a leisure centre near you? You can get a referral from your GP to enable you to take advantage of the fitness equipment, and someone at the centre could design a gentle exercise programme to suit you. Just a thought.

at the end of the day no,,,but do do hand and knees through the day

mostly its the end of the day when i stop ,,and then seize up the onlything i can do at that stage is sit sill,,or go to bad

    .
looking after the kids is my limit,on the 3days when oh is working,i dont attempt to do much except look after then, any big jobs,,like shopping, cutting the grass eth,,i have to know shes their for me the next day to help,,,
imagine doing some thing really straining,,,like a 10 mile walk...the next day it takes a couple of hours to loosen out the mussels,,,for me it will take all day ,,today i spent 3hrs weeding the front drive footpath, finished at 5pm,,hands are now curled up and knees stiff very hard to get up from the chair,,2morro will get up and be ok,,,but by lunch time pain will kick in and stiffness will return,,
You just have to do what you can do, and try and keep on exercising the bits that still work within the constraints of pain and stiffness.this is spot on I think the little ones will more than keep you active, in general terms yes especially now the smallest has discovered independent motion! unfortunately we don't have leisure centres like in the uk,,only private gyms at€400 to €600 pa
their are swimming pools half an hr away and am looking into that,,,also im trying to get a exercise bike,
im going to attend a fitness unit in the local hospital ,and see a specialist to see what can be done,(September),the problem their is the knee is not strong enough to take it!!
hopefully they can come up with some house type exercises ,using chairs, stairs and build up from their
ive also sent of for a unit like the one you use to get a 6pk,,except this one has different tags for different mussels so it can go on the arms or leg or thigh,,
but of cause all this has to done around the kids which adds to the fun
