What a strange system for driving?? :rolleyes:

I THINK THE FIGURES THEY ANNOUNCED the other year were
100'000 provisional licence holders,,,just under a 1/3 of all drivers
the old system was
fill in form and send off for licence
take 5 to 10 lessons with professional school to learn to handle the car,,,,not compulsory!! ,,,where upon they would tell you to go and drive for 6months on the road and get some experience:eek::eek::eek:
my oh had her lessons(10) was told to go and practice,,,hadn't taught her,,,hill start 3 point turn,,emerg stop,parking,handbrake on at lights or lane positioning at junctions,or petrol,tyres eth :rolleyes:
then come back and we will correct what your doing wrong
most went back failed test ,,,applied for for 2nd provisional licence and just renewed it every two yrs,,,,with out doing the test
then they wounder why we have such a high death toll ,,,,oh i forgot thats all the,,,,KIDS,,,who are all drunk and drugged.....EASTERN EUROPEANS ,,,who forget which side their on!!!,,,,,nothing to do with the governments incapperbiity to correct a bad situation..
theirs also approx 20thousend licences of all categories,,car hgv eth,,,that were given out without tests in the 80's because they couldn't cope with the back log,,,,

starting to change for the better,,,but still a long way to go
