    Hello

I have a bit of a problem that I hope you can help me with please.

I signed up for the free trail of the financial times for £1 a few weeks back. I cancelled my dd once the £1 had come off and sent them an email to say I no longer wanted to continue with my subscription and I got this email back

    Dear Mrs T

Thank you for your email. I can confirm that your post trial subscription to the Financial Times has been cancelled as requested.
I note that the full subscription vouchers have already been despatched. On their arrival please return them to our freepost address below so that we can clear the balance of £89.

    FREEPOST SL2163
    Gerrards Cross
    Buckinghamshire

I dont know what to do now. I thought you got to keep the vouchers when you canx the subscription.

    Please help

    mrs t

I would email them back and remind them that the £1 was for a "trial" which you have recived and thankyou very much but you dont want to subscribe, after reading their newspaper you have decided its not for you,
they cant argue with that. hope it helps :D
Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one.

Do you think so? What if they can enforce it and want the money back. Do you think it would be better to just ignore it or maybe deny that I received the vouchers. I mean £89 I didnt think there were that many vouchers. I dont remember them being delivered by recorded delivery so they cant prove I got them can they.

Also gill the vouchers we were given was for the total of one months free copy of the paper is that right.

    thanks for your reply

Red letter day for bully...details of Malta holiday emailed to me ...manager did me proud...I was going for Classic Room( cheapest) but he said he would upgrade me...next upgrade was Classic Plus...but he has reserved Superior Room for me...been working it out and has saved me a lot of money by booking direct and it gets cheaper by the day as the pound is getting stronger..not paid a penny yet, pay in euros(€130 per night) on departure...he didn't even ask for a deposit...

My butter 'mountain' came, not mocs...6 packs of Kerrygold...3 solid packs and 3 spreadable, in a very useful cool bag, with an ice pack...still nice and cold...gone straight into the freezer ..

5 minutes later the fishing bag I won in May finally came.,
Yesterday ,weekend away details came and it is for 4 peeps and includes 3 course dinner....
just waiting for my Andy Murray sports bag and goodies to come , and hopefully the postman with Nivea moc and then I'm off to Tesco...hope they have got those booklets wiith the £2 off cartidges...didn't see them the other day.Now if I could just find a moc to post...it would be perfect day indeed.
Caught 2 carp yesterday and hubby caught 2( all doubles) lines in water at 1pm...4 fish caught between 8pm and 8.15pm...had a lovely restful day sitting in the sun for 7 hours reading and doing crosswords....before the action started...

You cannot deny it as if you look at the front voucher there is a unit number (customer priority no) for each of us to use. I think the reason they didn't ask it back from me is becoz I used company address & I received their confimation letter that my "MD's" subscription has been cancelled & should I decide to re-subscribe I can contact them. There is no mentioned of "give it back to us the vouchers":D

They can prove you got them if you use any, as they are personalised.

But I think I would email back and say you were planning to make use of the 'free trial' as advertised, and buy the paper with your vouchers each day. You understood that the cost of this might be £1 but apart from that it was completely free to try.

Say please let you know if you have misundertood the offer. The subscription - whilst an add-on to the free trial - seems to be a different thing with no obligation to take it up? It's unfortunate you have had to cancel but have no option, and didn't realise this would mean you couldn't buy the paper using your free trial vouchers either. Maybe add that you have used 3 or 4 of them already in good faith...

You can't use it if the store you want to use it in doesn't stock it.
