Why should I not reply if someone's again attacking me?

I notice you and several others shut up very quickly when your mate was attacking and swearing at me yesterday.

:D Please don't be falling out, most of you on here have so much help, advice and encouragement to offer, much more usefull than negative bickering;)

Energy into coupon hunting sounds good!:D

    Hi panthermnan

Exactly the same has happened at our store - I'm in E Anglia, and as of Monday the manager put a blanket ban on ALL internet vouchers as a result.

I know for a fact that a HUGE proportion of the staff were using (probably abusing) vouchers.

I heard also that some guy was bragging on Facebook about how much free "stuff" he'd managed to get lately.

I also heard (similar to you) that there were people going in and out repeatedly over the weekend, trying to make the most of the vouchers, as they had heard during the previous week that the store were pretty much taking more vouchers than cash, and the likelihood was that the manager would put a stop to it this week (as he eventually did).

I've tried emailing Head Office, who are very sympathethic, but they've pointed out that it's the Manager's discretion at the end of the day.

I'm thinking I may try to email the manager to see if there's any chance he would relax the ban in future.

For the moment, all they're accepting is the ones you clip out of the paper or off cereal packets or get sent to you.

5 coupons and only 1 shop per day using coupons plus to use mag coupons you have to buy the mag also like for like so food for food and non food for non food
It's not too bad once you get used to the rules - I still apreciate the saving
There was so much abuse in my area that they had to do something and this works so try suggesting that if you do contact your store manager it's better than nothing:eek:

Is your scammer neighbour a Postman by any chance? Or a planespotter?:p

'Postman' and 'Planespotter' were both usernames of two different, alleged abusers with the Tesco R&R policy (and then they moved on to abusing coupons). Neither of them understood the bigger picture nor knew the meaning of moderation; it was no surprise when the R&R policy ended soon after.

It's the crass stupidity that you've posted about, that reminded me of those two (completely separate posters BTW). Not sure if either of them were in Derbyshire but it rings a bell with me. Maybe someone else who R&Red a couple of years ago will remember?

The Postman was dumb enough to link a picture to a boasting post about his ill-gotten gains - and that picture gave access to his personal photo gallery, his name and other personal details, lol!:rotfl:

Planespotter was famous for complaining on local radio when Tesco wouldn't play with him any more and give him all 'his' clubcard points, he also liked to boast about his haul of H&B items.

They both sound quite similar to your neighbour with his haul of 'stuff'.

P.S. swannee_D and hillybilly, I agree that we need to shut the stable door even though the horse seems to have bolted...please remove the link to the magazine mocs from the first post, PC (if enough of us now agree), and please can no-one pm those links to anyone else. Many of us have been quite happily getting along without using the magazine mocs, there are plenty of others around.

I do remember that someone posted on here that a man from Derbys and his buddies travelled in a gang around Derbys/Notts/Leics area buying high end items i.e. booze, dvds with coupons and that was the reason for his store in Notts stopping taking coupons at that time
I can't remeber if it was the same poster but someone came on here and named him and even gave his phone number but it was quickly removed by the mods - they also named a woman and said both of them sold coupons on e-bay too
Could be the same peeps:confused: I even think I saw them as I posted a while ago that I saw a van load of peeps in the car park at my T having a smoke and the security guards were waiting at the door to refuse them entry - it all got a bit heavy but they eventually drove off and didn't get in the store but they had a lot of the male employees called over to the door to support security. It was not a nice experience for me to be stuck waiting before i dared leave the store let alone the staff:eek:

True, but you're asking for everyone to be friends after you've thanked Mad's post telling me to shut up (after I'd defended myself from another unfounded attacking post from Bully).

I have been reading all the recent posts with the accusations & counter accusations and thought for a minute I was on the wrong forum.

What a pity that this forum, which is here to help us all save some money, has deteriorated into a slanging match.

To all of you who have been involved and feel aggrieved for whatever reason, please, please can you all take a deep breath and go back to being the lovely posters that you are.

Along with many others, I am very grateful to PC and all those individuals who find coupons & take the time to share their experiences and knowledge with the rest of us. Long may this continue but please, please can we have some peace from the wrangling.

Without taking sides or getting into who misunderstood who or who may or may not have been having a go at someone can I please ask if any of you still have a grievance or want to carry on falling out have you considered pm'ing each other instead of taking up so much room posting on the actual thread:confused:where everyone has to read this aggro and unpleasantness
or as previously suggested go to the drivel thread and argue to your hearts content without subjecting everyone to your falling out - I come on here to look for coupons/coupon advice and general chat about -wait for it coupons and the odd bit of banter and general chit chat not nastiness. There is enough of that in this world anyway
I for one am fed up of all of this arguing - life is too short, well mine is anyway:eek:
I can understand people getting upset and wanting to make their own point and think that it has now been done to death - can we please all be friendly again and I mean all not just some of us - let's all be friends again and put the squabbling behind us and move on - it's not worth getting so upset about
Always look on the birght side of life de dum de dum de dum deedummiedeedum:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: altogether now Always look on the bright side of life....

  • These questions are consuming me at the moment I am on a mission to get 2. I checked a copy in Tesco yesterday Pink kindly said it was on page 126 but there was only an offer to subscribe I looked at page 127 but maybe didn't look close enough:confused:.
The problem is it's in a bag cause it comes with a free receipe leaflet:rolleyes: so I had to open it to get the mag out :o and didn't want to spend too long messing about with it. Looks like I'm going to have to open another to recheck :o:o:o:o. The problem is there is often subtle differences between the shelf and sub copy.

If you pm me your details I have 2 that I can send to you.

BabyJ3 (I was going to abbreviate that to BJ3, but didn't want to offend ) Thanks for the positive suggestion. Good idea - as you say, better to have a restricted acceptance than none at all.

I'm currently waiting to hear back from a Customer Services Manager at Head Office, who I've emailed a couple of times, and who appears empathetic.

She's apparently emailed the Manager at my local store & has promised to do all she can to persuade him to lift the blanket ban. She's asked him to respond to her within 3 days.

I must admit I'm a little sceptical, especially since this is the same Store Manager that couldn't even manage eye contact with me a couple of weeks back when I was trying to show him the email I'd got from Head Office stating categorically that the Lidl (Daily Star) conditional spend voucher WAS to be accepted by all stores. At the time, he just took my voucher (without a word), walked straight off past me and fobbed it all off on a Supervisor, then returned to tapping keys on a computer in the middle of the checkout area (maybe he was counting his profits, who can tell).

I'll keep you all posted if you're interested.

I tried Waitrose today to see what their MOC policy is - they will take 3 MOCs if you haven't bought the item. Better than nothing, and I do love Waitrose for their quality and choice, but boy they know how to charge. So by the time you've pulled out your top value vouchers (50p in my case) you might be lucky to bring the price down to just above Tesco price for 1 or 2 items.

Hey ho, it was good while it lasted. I guess I'll have to find another hobby, and keep looking out for the "reduced" stickers in Tesco and Waitrose.

One final thing: I too support an end to this bickering - I don't post very often as I have a busy job and often only have time to skim through the posts, but I do find the sense of community quite unique in terms of forums I've visited in the past, and I'd hate to see that eroded.

Finally, finally: Bully, please please reconsider your decision re lurking. Your posts are so valuable and help so many (myself included) and also brighten the day very often.

Apologies to everyone if this has already been posted but am still playing catch up - page 138 now:D and just in case it hasn't I thought I'd let you all know
I just tried to renew my sub for Times vouchers and it says that the voucher scheme has been replaced by a £2.50 a week subscription scheme:eek: so no more vouchers
Better to be told twice than not at all:D

Thats a bummer - I did mine yesterday and it went through OK. Remains to be seen if I get the coupons though!
