This is the discussion thread for the following MSE News Story, specifically to discuss the views expressed in the article:
"Tesco Mobile has launched what it's calling an 'unlimited' tariff at £30 a month, which could help users cap costs at that level, regardless of provider.
Despite the hype, the deal is beatable. While the Tesco tariff is marketed as unlimited, you only get £500 of UK use a month ..."

I just read the T&C on their website - and was wondering whether they mean it... And it's for SIM only if I am not mistaking..0

Now lets just hope all providers roll this out!0

To be brutally honest still the best SIM only deal by miles is the Solo 20 deal from T-Mobile. 20 quid gets you 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of internet access per month. Surprised T-Mobile don't market this on TV instead of their 15 quid a month tariff.0

And is the internet connection any good? Is it fast? And how many hours of browsing the net is 1GB equal to?0 -

That is good but don't hink T-mobile would have me back
I pay £15 for pay as you go and get unlimted o2 calls and texts, my 3g bolt on costs £7.50 and the rest is credit for non o2 calls and texts. :cool:0 -

This seems to be fine if you only use 'voice' and not data. Don't expect to be able to use this deal if you have a 'large-ish' web allowance integrated ino your mobile contract... If you use facebook, twitter etc. look elsewhere! Tesco Mobile is a virtual provider on the O2 network... Neither Tesco or O2 came to this agreement without knowing that the 'voice' allowance was a priority for it's extended user-base (including 'termination fee' items)
Tesco is the bastian of no-nonsense 'every little helps' voice traffic for them! :-) :A0
