Cheapest Prepaid GPRS/3G?
Hello all, I'm looking for a prepaid/pay-as-you-go based data service for my phone. I've looked around and the prices seem ridiculous, but I wanted to ask in here to be sure.
I'll be using the SIM to check email every half hour or so in my smartphone.
I can't believe the prices that I'm reading about, because in Hungary (my fiancee is Hungarian) I can buy a "bolt-on" for my Vodafone prepaid SIM that gives me 100MB for about 8 quid, which lasts me about a month with fairly heavy use (for when I am outside of wifi hotspot range)
Is there something similar in the UK?
I'm not prepared to go on contract with anyone, so prepaid data is what I'm looking for. Anyone know the cheapest?
thanks in advance!

Check out an O2 online sim - can't remember what the inclusive bit is for GPRS (maybe 1Mb). Other than that, I think you're in trouble - I think £3/Mb is good on easymobile.com (see the referals board & get an extra fiver free each if you sign up). Ooouch - £300 a month!Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0

Excellent, I'll be opting for the Orange £1/day option.
Do you know if this applies to the 3G service too?0
