have just spent along time and alot of money on having my site re designed from my feeble effort earlier in the year..
I have a vision in my mind as to where i want to be with it, but am unsure as to if it is correct
The following link is a link to my website,
https://www.pvcprinting.co.uk
It appears to work alright, but have some naggings doubts over some bits of it that i just cannot put my finger on!
Would appreciate you web techies out there taking a look at it and letting me know how it looks and if you feel it works?
Cheers in advance
Pete

how bout the content and layout?
i am unsure about how light the purple looks!
cheers anyway for the info0 -
I'm looking at it in Mozilla Firefox. I'd say the purple text was too light, and the original main text size a bit small. I'm just getting to the age where I sometimes need glasses, but I'm blowed if I can be bothered with them most of the time: if you want me to read something, make it big enough for me to do so!
Also, the 'medallions' on the left hand side: Gift Vouchers, Loyalty cards etc. It would be more 'professional' if clicking on them brought you immediately to an actual example of what a Gift Voucher or Loyalty Card might look like. Whereas they all open the same window, which doesn't have all the options displayed. In fact all the 'options' in that window look pretty much the same product.
Now as for the navigation menus at the top: I get a stripey effect with them! Marketing Designs and Contact Us are OK, but all the others have white horizontal strips of varying thicknesses through the left hand graphics ...
Brain in no fit state to comment on anything more than what's very obvious right now, but hope that helps and isn't too negative!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
looks good. but pink too light as said previously"enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0

Hi Pete
i've only had a quick look at your site - and agree with the other comments about the medallions and the colours.

Hi Pete
Sorry about the error (must remember to update my document too!)
I'm not really sure of the direct link (being a complete dunce about web design), and especially as there seems to be a choice of validators, but if you go to the home page at
https://www.w3.org
there's an option for new visitors, which will hopefully give you the information you need. Llooks like it's quite a useful site for anybody that might have the vaguest understanding of what they're talking about

Dear Pete,
as a web designer I had a quick look at your site and while the look and feel is OK there are a number of fundamental coding errors. As mentioned by others you can validate your sites markup at http://validator.w3.org/ However your site will not validate as it is missing a vital DOCTYPE declaration atthe start of the document. This should be something like this for HTML
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
or like this for XHTML <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
The other major flaw is the total lack of style sheets (CSS) and the deprecated <font> tag has been used throughout. It looks like the designers built the look of the site in Macromedia Fireworks and coded straight from this in Dreamweaver.
In short the site has not been built to current web design standards in markup or accessibility.
Sorry to be a doom merchant

Looks good to me. Very professional. Only the lightness as already said.
I thought it was very well laid out and easy to navigate.Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0
