O2 unlimited calls PAYG- minimum monthly top-up?
Options
I have someone with an o2 mobile (he's on contract) that I need to call for just a couple of minutes every day. I don't have a mobile, so I'm currently using a landline phone to contact him and I'm trying to find a cheaper option.
I'm thinking of using an old handset with an o2 PAYG card instead, which I've been told gives me free calls to o2 numbers if I top up the PAYG card by £15.
My question is: is this £15 a monthly minimum limit, or once I top up by £15, do I have unlimited o2 calls until I need to top up again? I've been told two different things in different phone shops, so does anyone have experience with this?

The £15 is for an O2 simplicity sim card which gives you free calls on anyone on O2, you also get 300mins to anyone and 600 texts per month aswell. It is a direct debt payment every month and you can keep track of all your call time and texts online;)I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
it would probably be cheaper for you to get Tesco lite which use o2 signal and that is 8ppm or use your o2 payg sim and add your numbers which costs £5 a month and you get 1000 sms/mins to up to 10 nominated o2 numbers0

Sounds like it won't be any good for me then, since I'll rarely make any other calls on it. Although it would probably still be cheaper getting a regular PAYG o2 card anyway.
Thanks for the clarification!0 -
No this is also available on Pay and Go. You can call and check. I think it is called O2 unlimited. For £10 you get free texts to O2 and £15 for unlimited calls.0
