And McVities said this to whom and when? How reliable is your source? I'm not calling anyone a liar but a lot of stuff gets posted on the internet that's not always 100% true.

    GG

i and a couple of others have spoke to mcvities
as hubby had won £50 i phoned to ask on what i stand on winning and what happens if a £50 comes up they told me the computer knows what people have won and it will not come up with £50

Take that rumbling the other week about McVities asking for all those wrappers - to this day it's never been confirmed by the original poster or the person who repeated it on here, despite being asked to confirm it.

I'm only asking you these questions because the rumblings of blaming McVities further down the line regarding the t&c's that everyone knows about and yet still wish to stretch "slightly" really doesn't cut it.

Lets take the scenario of Miss Smith winning £50. She wants more. She drops three £50 and then gets £500. She claims the £500, but mcVities can see the dropped £50's. They only have to check 50 winners a day - that's not a huge task. They ask her why she hasn't claimed. She says she wanted the biggie and she says the t&c's says she can only win a major and a minor. Straight away McVties say ---- so you read the t&c's then? Where does she go from there?

I know people weren't happy with the rule changes. They affected a lot of people, but I can't see how people can argue their case without letting on they knew about the rule changes if the've been dropping wins before claiming the biggie, if you see where I'm coming from.

I'm not trying to cause trouble. It's just that I think a bit deeper about things and the different scenarios that can arise.

I also apologise for the use of the word sap. It wasn't meant as an insult. My bad.:(

    GG
I rang McVities this morning and asked them if I had won £100 and not claimed and gone out and got more codes could I claim a bigger prize if I should win one. I was told that the computer would know that I had won £100 so it wouldn't happen. (I didn't say about all the £50). I'm not too sure quite how much the lady knew because she thought £100 was a minor prize.

I wonder if the people on the phone even know what they are talking about, so many different stories about. At least one person I know was told you must send in ID with packet to claim major prize but most people here have had cheques without sending in ID. I dont think they know s0d all.

Noone is not choosing to drop any £50's , they are only allowed to claim 1 minor prize (£50). But are still allowed to play on in the hope of winning a major prize.

I have an email from McVities saying.

"If you have already won a minor prize, the system should not allow you to become another minor winner as your details will already be listed. You do still have a chance of winning a major prize though if you have not already won one. "
