Use a 64 bit version of Windows then if you want to be able to address the full amount of RAM you have.

That depends on the version of Windows you have, does it not?

Not really because it doesn't matter what you have currently because if it's able to address the full 4GB that's installed then you need to change to an x64 edition of XP, Vista or 7. That's your only option.

Do you go round telling Muslims and Hindus they should be Christians? No, I thought not.

Of course I don't, that'd be ridiculous. I tell them they should be atheists.

But different 64 bit editions of Windows can address different amounts of RAM.

For instance, Vista Home Premium is limited to 16 GB of RAM.

So just putting a 64 bit edition of Windows on your computer doesn't mean it will use all the RAM you have.

another thing, is why do you have to spend MORE money on microsoft products just to be able to address the ram that was put in it?!

that's like buying a car with only 2 seats in it, and the rear seats are an optional extra... :D

All have limits (even OS X) and to be fair how many people are going to have 16 GB? You're more likely to have reached the hardware limit before the OS limit. :)

It does when you look back and see I was referring to what Paul_R said regarding the version of Windows on his computer could only use 3GB out of the 4GB installed.

    msi gt725.

    :)
Looks nice! What's the build quality like? I was under the potentially very wrong impression that MSI were pretty poor in that department.
Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.

Seems fine to me and I've already taken it abroad on business trips etc and seems to have held up well. I remember seeing a review on hexus that said that it was poor and that the touch sensitive buttons required "jabbing" them, but from 1st hand experience it's exceeded my expectations and the touch sensitive buttons at the top just require a glancing touch and they activate. So far anyone who's seen it has been impressed.
