£1300 mobile bills is half a year. Want a new contract
Since October 05 Ive got mobile bills of more than £1300 in total from 3 different providers (a mix of going over tariff minutes, making calls abroad, having phones stolen/signing up for new accounts for new phone has contributed to this).
Now, its coming up to cancellation time for them and Im looking around. Ive got contracts with 3, T-mobile, orange and Ive had a contract with 02 in the past but that was cancelled about 2 years ago.
Id like to go to one of the providers and get a contract with them and cancel the others.
So far 02 have offered me 35 pounds a month for 750 minutes and 750 texts (Inc free nokia n70), but that was the first offer they gave, the sales person wasnt helpful much and I get the feeling thats a standard promotion. They did say all those years ago that they would give me a special tariff if I ever wanted to come back to them, but I dont know which number to call.
Im after the ballpark 500-700 xnet mins, but with a good per minute rate for other networks once I cross this line.
Can I use my large spend over the past year to negotiate a good rate? What sort of deals should I be settling for?
Thanks

E2save have the LG u880 VTT1300 (1000 mins, 150 texts, 50 mins video calls) at 11 months half-price rental.
11 x £30 + 1 x £60 = £390 minus Quidco £31.50 = £358.50 annual cost.
Landline/same network calls over incl. mins are 10p per min. within 3g area, 15p outside.
Cross network 25p per min. Texts 10p."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -
I would suggest you consult reestitmutton either by sending him a PM or using contact button from his website or better look on his website and search by using criteria that you can define yourself0

I can't advise on the contract details, but how much is your use abroad? If it's significant, I'd suggest O2 and also get one of the gllobal roaming SIMs0

Abroad calls accounted for only £220 out of the £1300 for the past year - it was before I realised I was being charged £1.30 a min for receiving calls!0

Ouch. Some networks have an international option costing about £3 a month that cuts call charges; or on Vodafone sign up for their Passport option, which has calls at home tariff plus a 75p connect fee per call.DMDz wrote:Abroad calls accounted for only £220 out of the £1300 for the past year - it was before I realised I was being charged £1.30 a min for receiving calls!
With a different SIM while abroad, you can receive calls free, and use a callback service to make cheap calls between 10p and 20p per minute. O2 UK has the best call diversion option to foreign numbers (some won't do it at all)0
