You could try a classified ad on eBay, it has huge coverage.
Good luck.;)0 -
I did see them, how much are they to do?0
-
Not sure, I do know that they are not too expensive.0

How do you get a quote from a dealer? Literally just walk in and ask them if they'd like to buy your car?0
-
No they were sending me letters0

The following is the part ex from glass
Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition:
£4360
Average condition:
£3880
Below average condition:
£3420
assuming yours is in excellent shape then you would expect to get around £4300 on a part exchange so £4.5k from a private sale seems a bit low to me. That said, it all depends on who your competition is so would suggest looking through autotrader with a 30-40mile radius of where you live and try to price it around £500 below trade price.

£4995 should see it gone.
LX is a bit naff really. People will rather pay a few hundred quid more for a Zetec or Sport0 -
Parkers is considered a bit of a joke in the trade. Wouldnt pay much attention to it.
The problem you have is your car is the most popular make, model, engine, and shape (hatch) however its low spec and doesnt have alloys (which nearly all new cars do - which is a very visible sign of an entry level model - although Studio and CL still below yours but thats because Ford produced 11 variations at that time)
Look on ebay completed listings and see what price similar models are selling for.
I think 5k is the right price for a 1.6 diesel in zetec spec with your age and milage.
I think the right price for yours is 4250 - 4500. If its being sold through a dealer with warranty and history then add 1k on to that.
The dealer letter is simply a number to get you to go in and change your car. They base it on average age/mileageof 10k (yours is well above this) and its a hook to get you in. Often comes with a special reference number (ours used to consist of the breast size and age of that days page 3 luverly in the Sun)
Just looked on ebay - completed listings for 06 petrol focus hatch one exactly same as yours - spec, engine, 42k miles just went for £4500 and only had the one bid at that price. Item number 200367588682 if you want to look. That had alloys (not sure if yours does)
An 06 plate with 30k and additional warranty through a retailer went for 5495.
Those 2 were 2 of 5 that sold (out of 200 cars that didnt sell on there)
Suggest you have a look at that first one as I think thats the price you will achieve for the car. Sorry if its not what you want to hear but your car is a fleet car and there are loads and loads about.
Cheers0 -
