For cat urine there is a product called urine off which breaks down the urine to eliminate the smell. I imagine if it can eliminate cat urine (which it does very effectively from my experience) it will work on human urine.
It should be left to soak into the stain and dry.0 -

Now there's a thought. If this doesn't work I'll borrow my mum's.
It's drying nicely thankfully0 -
my son has just"had a dream of weeing" in my new bed! no waterproof as i thought we had done with that yrs ago!
as its 4.30am! ive soaked up all wet with loo roll and scrubbed with baby wipes and im back in bed with a towel over it
so what do i do with it in the morning. i wouldnt say it was "soaked", as it had a sheet, electric blanket and normal mattress protector on0 -
just a thought but could you claim for it on the house isurance ?
Be careful.
You need to factor in the costs for loss of NCD, also loaded premium whilst you have to declare the claim (3 years?) plus the excess.
Make sure you factor in the increases for however many years.
You can do virtual quotes on comprison sites e.g. put in 0 claims and NCB, then increase claims and reduce NCB to see the difference.
Don't forget to multiply this by the number of years you will be affected (3?) also use a false email and phone number.
It's generally not worth making small claims.0 -
My daughter soaked mine through once. It stank. I soaked mine through with disifectant, and mopped it up. I've put a padded mattress protector on top of the mattress, and turned it over. I used this mini carpet cleaner which sucks up spills on it, to suck up the dirty water, and aired out thoroughly.
It wsa a really expensive mattress, so I was reluctant to ditch, although will be replacing at some stage. Seems ok now.0 -
Is it worth looking into specialist cleaners? with a view to paying someone to do it properly?0

I have had this problem lots, with two bed wetters in the house. I sponge with detergent, and then leave to dry. Then I use a product called Gran's Remedy on it - it is a powder designed for smelly feet. I have never found Bicarb works that well, so one day I used some of this and was impressed. I brought mine out from NZ with me, but I see that you can by online in the UK.0
