Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.

Today I am wearing one of the tops I bought yesterday (£1.79) and it looks really great for work.

You really can get some great bargains,.....and for all those that are dubious...some of the stuff fuond in charity shops is practically brand new - as somebody mentioned - some still have the original tags on. The charity shops sort through all the clothes and don't put things on the shelves that are really daggy or stained or have holes in etc, so nobody would be able to tell that it's second hand anyway.

I begrudge paying money for work clothes, but they're so easy to find in charity shops. Most of my work tops cost me between £1 to £4 and they are all smart. Also picked up a pair of pin-strip trousers for £3.50.

Might have to withdraw a tenner and leave the wallet at home. I've been known to be dangerous with a wallet on payday, lol

I have to do this ALL the time!

I especially hate it when payday falls on a Friday. This is very dangerous ground indeed.

I also always leave my wallet at home if I go out in the evenings for a drink and just take out what I can afford to spend.

One thing I have found with the charity shops in London is that they are still pricey - I went to some in Pimlico and was amazed that the Oxfam shop allowed you to pay with Amex although judging by their prices I wasnt surprised because they still charged silly money:rolleyes:

    (what's Amex??) :o:o

Ahh I didn't think about the fact that they would charge more in London....

Although, I suppose if you were going to save for a planned shopping trip then it might be worth while as you could get some really nice designer stuff for your money, if you were into designer etc.

  • I love the charity shops,
I will be shopping this morning so will pop in and see what I can get my hands on.

The other week I managed to pick up a pair of genuine Birkenstocks(worn once) for £3.95,they weren't my size so put them on ebay for £20.00 and they sold within the hour.It wasn't until I checked the Birkenstock website later that the particular pair I had sold retailed for £45.00 - but never mind ,very happy with profit I had made !

I tried making some money this way once but wasn't really that successful after the ebay fees etc had been paid. But if you have something really popular like that then it's a really good way of making a quick bob!

Infact. I'm doing a car boot on Sunday so may have to stray from the path and look at some of the other stalls  to see if there's anything that could fetch some money on ebay.

I bet there are lots of people out there who make a total killing do that, it's just knowing what will sell well I guess.

Hey guys - I live in Pimlico :D:D, its the best for charity shops - only the oxfam is a bit more expensive the rest are still cheap as chips and we get all the Chelsea overflow :D:D:D (and not overpriced like it is over there :p)

The best two roads are Wilton Road and Warwick Way, but there are also some on Belgrave road and Tachbrook street

If someone was ebay minded enough - they could make a fortune road here!

    Enjoy!
  • charity shops are my secret, I love them

Last month I bought two pairs of linen trousers for £3 each, one River Island, one NExt:T
