    This is definatly true!

My boyf suggested we save up for a shopping trip down to London to do the charity shops down there! Apparently the ones down Portobello Road etc are great. I've never been to London shopping so would be great fun!

Charity Shops are great, because you get different things. A lot of the high street shops all stock the same kind off stuff....which at the moment seems to be dayglo yellow/orange/pink and everything seems to be sack-like and have no shape!

So it's good as you get to see a variety of stuff (besides the fact that it's so damn cheap!)

    Good Idea!!!!!

I've always been a little scared of charity shops :o As a guy I can't stand shopping at the best of times and for some reason I can't seem to get over my phobia of shopping for second hand clothes.

I do visit charity shops on occasion to make donations, but have never managed to actually buy anything from one (apart from home furnishings).

To be honest though....I always have a look out for things for my boyf and there is usually only a very small section for mens clothes. Maybe this is because men (generally) aren't so obsessed with revamping their wardrobes.

It depends on what kind of clothes you wear really....I'm waiting till we visit Cornwall to find stuff for my boyf as he likes combats and surfy tops etc

I thought about selling manure aswell a while back! Might try and sort that out actually!

The festival is somewhere near Bristol, they won't release the date until nearer the time to prevent gatecrashers. It's called Boomtown Fair. Last year it was called Recydrate the West, I didn't go last year though. Haven't been to a festival in years so should be a laugh! It's a cider festival really and loads of bands etc, mainly ska and folk with a dance tent aswell with breakbeat etc.

I swear by charity shops and I do give them some of my clothes too. I usually buy antique glass and occasionally clothes - I got a Next top that looks awful off but looks great on - it was £3.50 and a pair of shorts for about £2. In the past my mum has picked up a Gerry Weber blouse for me for 50p - I still wear it as it washes and irons well (must have had it for about 10 years now:eek:). One thing I have found with the charity shops in London is that they are still pricey - I went to some in Pimlico and was amazed that the Oxfam shop allowed you to pay with Amex although judging by their prices I wasnt surprised because they still charged silly money:rolleyes:

Got an old fashioned potato masher 50c

Throw for the settee in the lounge €3

Love to find a bargain in there and never seem to come back disappointed:T

  • I love charity shops too - the ones near to me always seem to have good labels in them.

Picked up some Principles trousers a few weeks ago for £2.50 and they were like new.

Hmmm, payday tomorrow....can I resist the urge to go and look in them without wandering too close to the big hightstreet stores, lol.

Might have to withdraw a tenner and leave the wallet at home. I've been known to be dangerous with a wallet on payday, lol
