well i have finally finished reading all of this diary and thought i would post and say how well you are doing with reducing your mortgage. I have looked at the matched betting a few times but have not dared to do anything so far. Would help to get debts paid off quicker.

Hello and welcome slm6002, always nice to have new people here, please feel free to keep posting
Matched betting can be daunting at first, but for starters why not have a go at the bingo britain, theres more about it on Hypnos thread, you do have to wager a fiver though to start with, or how about the scratchcards, they're nice and easy and risk-free, samll money but it all gets added to the rest and adds up nicely

Well we had a lovely day again today, this morning we went to a local market but didn't find anything there that took our fancy, then we went ten-pin bowling, ds hasn't been before but he really loved it
Then I took him to Pizza Hut for lunch, he doesn't like pizza but last night I had a phonecall from my nephew (6 weeks younger than ds) to say his wobbly tooth had come out. Ds was sobbing his heart out for about an hour afterwards as he desperately wants a wobbly tooth, everyone in his class either has a wobbly tooth or has lost one already and he's the only one that hasn't, and now his cousin has lost one was just too much for him
So after lots of tears we had a chat and he has decided to start eating crunchy apples (never touches fruit other than grapes or smoothies normally), and was asking what else is crunchy that might help ... well being a bit of a naughty mummy I told him that meat / pizza / pasta / fruit would be good (basically all the things I can never get him to eat
), and today he said he would like to try pizza, so we went to Pizza Hut for their lunchtime buffetafter the bowling. He tried one mouthful, said he didn't like it, and stuck to salad after that, but at least he tried
Then we came home, played a bit then went to meet his dad and he's gone off for the weekend. I was supposed to have a dentist appointment tonight but I felt really peculiar while we were waiting for his dad to arrive, felt sick and light-headed, and couldn't bear the thought of an injection on top of that too, so phoned and cancelledI feel better now but still feel a bit off, not ill but just not right, so am tucked up in bed already, cosy pj's, glass of water and the laptop
And ... (sorry thisis turning into a mammoth post!) ... numpty-ex gave me Novembers maintenance money in cash tonight    That was enough in itself to make me feel light-headed :rotfl::rotfl:
Tomorrow I'm planning on getting up fairly early and seriously cracking on with the xmas shopping, I don't have a huge amount left to get but would like to get it over and done withMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Just been thinking about my signature though, my aim (albeit unrealistic) was to try to find £4920 by the end of the year. Originally at the start of the year my aim was to reduce my mortgage to £42k, this will be acheived once I reach £2920 in the mortgage pot, and I am now only £200 short of this. Each month I put £200 of my wages into the pot, so at the beginning of December I already know that I will reach that target. So, anything extra that comes along between now and the end of the year (9 weeks today will be Jan 1st ), will go towards lowering it below £42k. I reckon with a bit of a push I hope to get it down to around £41k by the end of the year, and then I can start all over again with next years aimsMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

My "year" runs from 1st December, as I joined the site at the beginning of December, so it marks my anniversary of debtbusting nicely.....also, it doesn't get lost in the new years stuff that flies around - by doing it from 1st December instead of 1st January, I can give it more time, and be more realistic over my figures etc.
Hope the banking is going ok - I have plenty of jaffa cakes here to see you through the night if neededSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Jaffa cakes are definitely helping Hypno
Right, the books are all balanced on paper but I still need to actually move money between various places to get everything where it should be, but the main thing is everything is looking good still
In even better news, I have decided that the boots I ordered from Next a few weeks ago, (only delivered a couple of days ago) are going back, I like them but I dont love them, so they're heading back to a shop tomorrow and that will be £45 less I need to find.
I have also sorted out Novembers budget and again thats all looking quite achievable so far, after all the bills, food and petrol are paid I have £200 left over for everyday stuff / going out / treats
I also sneaked onto Hypnos diary for a quick read earlier when I was haveing a 5 minute break from the number crunching, and saw she'd picked up a mystery shop; 2 minutes later and I too had grabbed one, am guessing its the same sort as it will make a useful addition to my present box (smellies), so thats to be done on sunday. I picked one up yesterday too for next saturday at a young persons clothing store, so whatever I get there will probably be refunded at some point
Lastly I have had a chat with Mum and I think we've finally agreed on what ds is getting for xmas from me / her / several other relatives. I keep having aunts asking what they can get him and normally I can't come up with any ideas but this year I seem to have managed to think of several things
So all in all a productive evening, I want now to go through my xmas shopping list and try and formulate a plan for this weekend to get most of it done
