and we're still top of the table Mart ;):D :j

:T Yes indeed, I thought you might mention that....

We're on a six match unbeaten run at the moment including Saturday's derby win against Bristol Rovers, 1-0 down to 2-1 up inside three minutes. Lovely for a Yeovil fan living near Bristol...:j

Grrr .... a very cross Benben alert

We went shopping with mum and when we got to the car park I realised I didn't have any change for the pay and display machine, so I used their phone up and pay system, we have this in Dorset and its great, but this was a Hampshire car park so had to register etc all over again with a slightly different system. Anyway, eventually asked for 2 hours and he told me what time it would expire etc etc, went off did the shopping and came back to find a penalty charge on the windscreen   I have phoned up and they are "looking into it" but it has put me in a oful mood now :o:o Looking at the time on the ticket it looks as though they have registered me as paying for one hour as the ticket was issued shortly after that would have run out, but I definitely asked for two and he told me what time it would expire and that was 2 hours later !! With the Dorset system you get a text as a receipt but with this one you don't, so have no proof. I have checked my online banking to see how much I've been charged but its not showing up yet. Aaaagh!!! I'm just really cross as I haven't done anything wrong, but its put me in a real grumpy mood now

Oh dear. I'm pleased we don't have anything like that up here yet. Mind you I try my best not to park where I have to pay even if it means I have to walk miles...lol.

    I'm soooooo cheap.

  • Benben that is sooo annoying and how on earth can they keep track of that without giving someone a receipt/text for proof? Terrible system. I'm sure you will sort it out though even though you shouldn't have to.

Now the important part is its the first day of your holidays and its bad enough they have caused you this hassle please do not let it spoil yours and DS day. I always try the 'putting it in perspective' when something like this stays with me. It could have been worse someone could have hit your car and drove off, or a car accident etc etc so in the scheme of things.

Seriously not trying to patronise you, just feel its not fair if your first day is spoiled when you were so happy/organised this morning. Its still a good day x

All sorted nearly ... I phoned the bank and they checked and I have been charged £1, which doesn't relate to any of the car park charges at all  I phoned the council back again and they said they have looked into it and can see I did pay and there was a "technical error"  and now I don't need to pay ... like she was doing me dome big favour   Aaaaagh!!!!

Thankyou Twinklie and KM, you're right, in the scheme of things its trivial and quickly sorted, but it really annoys me stuff like that :D Right, we're goiing to go and see Fantastic Mr Fox this afternoon to try and cheer me up, and I'm taking change for the car park with me this time ;):D

We had a great time this afternoon, it was far too expensive but hey, it was a rare treat ;) It cost £3 for the car park , £11.10 for tickets and ds persuaded me into buying popcorn £3 :o The film was good, ds loved it, and when we got back he has managed to practice writing a,b and c over and over again.

I'm trying to persuade him to go to bed but he's having none of it so far tonight.

Hope you've managed to get him off to sleep, BB.....

I have started, almost, as promised my diary which will go through the six month period from November 1st to May 1st. You and many others were kind enough to make the odd post on the previous one ( and the previous one to that too...:p) but it won't actually begin until Sunday...

Thanks BB, sorry for hijacking the thread....

Morning, another early start here again, scratch's done (2 x 10p), bingo done (won £2, withdrawn, now only £3 to pull back), no surprises in the banking and one more thing validated on quidco :D

So, today ... am off for a bath in a minute, then we're having a cheap day, putting up some halloween decs, maybe doing some baking, possibly a trip to the park, stuff like that. I may have yet another attempt at the banking as its nearly the start of a new month :D

Had my bath, we're both dressed and ds has been on at me to connect his vtech smile to the new tv, but I couldn't find the thing to connect it, I assume it got binned when the old tv got disconnected. Anyhow, last night we went to the electrical shop and it was about £8, so I decided to search the garage properly before buying it ;) This morning I had a brainwave and after checking the sides of the tv realised I could just connect it there instead, and hence saved £8 :j I'm sooo not technically minded and am sure a bloke would have sorted it in seconds without batting an eyelid, but hey, its a small victory for me :D So ds is now happily playing a racing game and I am going to get cracking on the finances ;)
