  • Clarence83, thanks for the support.

They have rung myself and OH again today, leaving messages to contact them. I've amended the prove-it letter and told them I have complained to the OFT since they have recieved the nuisance calling letter and still call.

One thing about MH is they are consistant with their relentlessness!

The OFT have given me a reference number and told me to keep them updated everytime they contact us.

    Oh goodie.

Let the OFT really understand how MH behave.

  • Just wanted to add my support for this, so far I am lucky in not having had dealings with these bunch of *@&** but it is important to stay strong, ring the OFT everytime they ring, you might also want to contact the Information Commisioner regarding the data protection implications of them talking to and ring you. My understanding is they would need your girlfriends written consent to discuss any element of any alleged account with them first, and doesn't sound to me like she has done that....

Getting in touch with them could give you some info to add to your armoury against them....
  • Thanks for the added support.

The OH hasn't given them permission in writing to speak to me. Yet they are acting as if it is my debt as well. MH are quite special in their own way!

I am looking into the Information Commisioner guidelines and will contact them with everything that MH have done. I can't decide if I'm fuming or amused with them.....!?
  • Go with amused, much more fun, consider it a game, with you emerging victorious at some point!

    Right!!

Just reported them to the OFT. They are on the ball with it as well.

Regarding the OFT guidelines, which one should I send with the 2nd prove-it letter:

The OFT Guidelines on Debt Collection

    or

The OFT Guidelines relating to MH and their requirements as of 15 April 2009.

They still haven't told us/her what the debt is for! I will keep you posted on the outcome.

Send them a print off of the actual OFT requirement:

    http://oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/consumer_credit/requirements.pdf

You might like to add something along the following lines to the letter:

"Please, also, be aware that we have reported your continued harassment to the Office of Fair Trading and, on their request, any further unsolicited telephone calls that we receive from you will be logged and reported to them."

  • Hello all!

Thought I'd just update the kind people helping us out....

MH rang me again on my mobile at work twice today! Second time I couldn't help myself and answered. I told them that they should only communicate via post and should not be ringing this mobile as :

    1) You have received the harrassment letter so should not be calling.
    2) I have reported you to the OFT for your harrassment and failing to work to your imposed guidelines.
    3) You shouldn't be ringing me as it is not my debt, but my partners, so I will be complaining to the Information Commissoner.

and their reply was..... drum roll please.....

"We don't have any guidelines we have to adhere to, now listen to me, you......." at which point I hung up.

I have just reported them again to the OFT and they said send the prove-it letter again - (just as RAS and Rog2 have advised) with the OFT guidelines attached and call them back everytime they ring or send a letter.

How MH offices haven't been stormed yet!

Good for you for standing up to them. It doesn't appear they have quite got the message yet though - does it  However their days are numbered by the sounds of it.
