Do u limit the amount of money you have per week?

I try to live off £20 a week sometimes with extra for the weekends, if I'm going out. I find it easy really as I only food shop for myself (sometimes OH too) and walk to work if the weather's fine. I guess it is easier though as I do a big shop at the start of the month and just supplement it from the £20 weekly.
My next tactic is to spend as little of it as possible and put the remainder in a tin - hopefully the following month I'll have enough in there for one 'free' week

looking at this has made me realise how much i can cut back.
Winkle - don't feel guilty! This is about some of us taking extreme measures, mostly to pay off debts we have racked up ourselves!
£300 pcm sounds like a lovely, sensible amount, and I'm looking forward to increasing my limit a bit sometime soon... But in the meantime, imposing limits on myself, for however long, is a really good way to show myself what can be done, and make sensible longer-term choices about how I manage the money I've got.0 -
Ive setup my budget so all the outgoings/DDs are taken care of then ive allowed myself 100 a month fun money, which i havent gotten through yet as im trying really had to squeeze more interest out of my A&L account lol0

Myself and the OH limit ourselves to £250 per month each to do as we please. When it's gone it's gone simple as that. The rest of our wages goes to the usual mortgage, food, bills, savings etc.0

I have a budget which was set out for me by ccs which includes petrol, birthdays ect and Ive started to fill in my spending spreadsheet again but i havent really given myself an amount per week. I think this is an excellent idea, so from next Monday Im going to take £10 per week out of my account to use during the week but allow a little more at weekends if need be. I take my shakes to work with me and if I plan Hubs meals correctly i can get his things at the weekend - therefore no reason to spend extra money in the week

Any excellent thread!!
