i dont understand what he has to get ready again, there in a box each, the same box that they were shipped from china in:rotfl:
its a bit of both yes they are too big for our room and thats our mistake, but they are cheap looking, feeling etc and not a quality chandelier, its a chinnese knock off tbh but we have paid top dollar for it.
The seller will still loose fees and spend there time relisting. The quality of the item does not matter. The seller will loose out because you have changed your mind0 -
Totally agree with you Cyril (now that doesnt happen much). Why should the seller loose out
see i don't just disagree for the sake of it, i disagree when i....erm.....disagree
occasionally i'll agree with you or you'll agree with me.....although lets not make a habit of it o.k...... it will spoil the balance of things in the blissful world that is the MSE ebay board.

cyril, cyberbob, this is shocking. I don't know if I like it :P
and, OP, I think it is quite fair for the seller to charge the fee, as there is nothing wrong with the item and it's not the seller's fault. It's simply that you no longer want the item, and that has cost the seller time and money.
Also, you mentioned the quality of the item - why would that matter?Undergrad law student. Take my advice with a pinch of salt! :rotfl:0 -

why would the quality matter? thats probably the most important thing about something you buy surely, that and the price. I don't mind pay less for something, then i would expect cheaper made items (as long as i know thats what i'm getting) however if i buy something that is 10-15% under what it costs in the shops then I would expect the quality to be the same as the items supplied by the shops. However this is a chandelier light, the fittings are made of cheap painted plastic made to look like metal, the crystals are lightweight glass. It just doesnt have any quality feel to it. If i paid £20.00 for it I 'm old enough to know that you get what you pay for.
yes its too big and thats my fault i've always stated that, but I think somewhere along the lines the seller has bent the truth about the so called quality of the lights.
However I have been in contact with him this morning and mentioned the laws and also about the quality of the lights, and lo and behold he told me that as these are new products he hasnt yet seen them and he arranged the first set to be dropshipped direct to me (nice) so he has agreed to refund me in total once i send these back to him. So he must have a heart. or at least understand that he should be checking the quailty of the goods before drop shipping them out to people.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
How much did you pay for it?
The size is irrelevant, but if it's cheap tat that you paid good money for, then it's unfair to have to pay for a restocking fee when you're rejecting it on the grounds of it's quality.
But then you made the mistake of rejecting it on size, which was your fault, so it's going to look very suspect if you now change your mind and reject for poor quality.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

.
But you have always stated that you were rejecting them on size not on quality. Now your changing your mind. Its like because you couldnt get your own way you are trying to find fault.0 -

we paid £273.00 per light fitting and they normally retail for £300+, i did mentiont he build quality in my original email but i didnt want to insult him by saying that basically hes products are crap and not upto a good standard. I thought if i say that size is big i will pay for the return and all being wel he would refund me. As i say i dont make a habit of buying stuff on a whim and returning it if we dont like it. If its good quality i could have tried reselling on but if i managed to sell it i cant imagine anyone else would be happy with it.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
my missus bought soe lights from ebay arrived and they are huge, our fault for not measuring them (we did bt obviously not good enough) i contacted seller and said our mistake but would he accept a return, one has been opened but carefully and the box is not battered
