Not receiving texts on 3 until up to 24 hrs late...

My DD is with 3 mobile and yesterday didn't receive any of the texts I, her dad or her BF sent her (we are all with different networks!) Then this evening she received them all at once.
Texts sent today haven't got through either, probably will come through tomorrow.
Concerned as mostly we all use texts when meeting up or arranging lifts and it just doesn't work if they are not relaible.
Could this be a problem with the network, or might it be her phone? She seems to be able to text out fine. Anyone else had similar problems?

But am I right in thinking its the network rather than the phone?0 -
Try it in another phone, that'd be an easy way to find out the problem..0

It'll be the network I'm sure. I've had this happen at some point with all the networks (and I've had phones on all the 'real' networks). I got compensation out of Orange about 10 years ago for that happening too - as voicemail indicators are also sent as text messages on the network and I lost some business.
Only other reasons I can think of it happening is if you are out of coverage, your phone has frozen up (which should be pretty obvious, and there are a few phones about that do this from time to time), or your text message storage is full and your phone won't allow any more to be delivered (this should show on the phone as a flashing envelope or suchlike). The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

My DD had this problem so badly she complained vociferously to Orange who eventually did something their end and it has improved but not entirely gone away.
Interesting to see the other post above that they have experience of this on ALL the networks.:eek:0 -
how old is the sim? we had a five year old sim, same thing 24hours late. the guy in the three shop says that there was a problem sometimes with old sims...sounds strange... rang and ordered a new one all is fine.0

Try sending a text to yourself and see how long the round trip takes, you'll know then if it's your network or the other.
The quoted max time for a text to arrive used to be up to 24 hours, don't know if that's changed ?0
