Why I Love House Prices Crashing

By the way, my other house was not bought as a BTL.

Repeat after me.............
My house is my pension
My house is my pension
My house is my pension....................
keep saying it enough and HPI will come to your rescue and you'll be fine.
it was good that you sold at the top of the market in 2007 though.0 -
Haven't I ?
I thought I did the last time we went through this.
Anyway, here goes [STRIKE](again?)[/STRIKE]
Ah piece of mind, fair play to you, your hedging your bets.
I understand.
In essence your hoping prices will fall for your kids but understand there is a possibility it may not happen.
I'm kind of in the same ball park with you although am doing it slightly differently
If you wanted to pass on to your kids, you could have kept one or two of the properties you sold, thus potentially saving the hassle later for your kids if one wants to sell and the other doesn't
With my BTL's there is always the option to pass on to my kid(s), but I really don't intend to do that. My intention is to make sure they have a good grasp on monetary value and work hard to earn their place wherever that may be.
Any inheritance / gifts handed down will be well after they have settled and chosen their fate, when the inheritance / gift will be far greater appreciated
Once again thanks for explaining:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

So this post started off as a cheer to house prices dropping and how wonderful it all is but no mention of how it affects people who trusted the banking system and wanted to own their own homes or the others who trusted the banking system who are now unemployed and unable to pay their mortgages an are suffering.
What goes around comes around and don't laugh at other peoples misfortunes as one day something will bite your own ar5e.0 -

So the patient prudent savers aren't suffering? Why should the gullible impatient and indebted always be bailed out?
They made their bed they can lie in it. 0
