IPG/Delta Force Paintball - anyone with any experience of them?

So hey guys, reading alot of the comments and just thought i could clear some things up maybe!
*** I just wanted to say first, that I worked for IPG for 2 years as one of there street vendors so I know how they work and im not here wasting time... ***
So.. IPG & Delta force are two completely separate companies. IPG is marketing and sales and Delta force is the actual paint ground.
most IPG sales teams are trained for the hard pitch and to never accept no for an answer, they will almost always try to close the sale by any means necessary. That said some sellers are decent and will help you throughout and wont ommit information..
Most sellers (around 85%) will surely mislead you on the total cost of paintballs, or ommit the additional costs all together.. IPG sellers are commision based self-employed sales members.. IPG's work contracts etc ensures that any missellings are the fault of the sellers and not them directly (IPG is ran by 3 incredible tight lawyers).
The packs which you buy in the street which are "discounted 80%" to only £59.99 are complete rip offs.. they are genuine to an extent but listen to this! the "activation code" which is written on your tickets.. isnt a code at all, its the 3 initials of who sold them to you I.E. ABC, followed by the date of purchase I.E 120614, then which number pack they've sold that day.. I.E. 3 pack sold will end 03,
So a full code would look some thing like this
ABC12061401 - this code has absolutely no relation to Delta force and is only so the company knows who sold the tickets..
NOTE: YOU CAN MAKE UP AND CODE USING THIS ABOVE AND GET FREE TICKETS :P
If you go directly to delta force you dont even need entrance tickets, only to pay for the paint which yes is incredibly marked up and expensivE, BUT atleast theyll tell you the correct price
Now the main reason (for all i know) for not bringing your own paintballs (apart from profits etc) is that people used to Freeze their own balls, and with young people playing and the flimsiness of the protection, its incredibly dangerous, and to check all the balls would take way to much time and waste your time too.
so as a final point, a day paintball you need around £50 ea for paint to cover you ( in my experience, more if kids are playing)
AVOID IPG, THERE TERRIBLE AND RIPP OFF ARTISTS!
if you want to go paintballing, go directly to the paintball provider, negotiate a price upfront and be prepared to spend much more than just £60 (ticket cost) total..
P.S refunds are incredibly difficult to achieve because the refund policy is with the seller.. if the seller decides to not answer the phone, you cant get a refund, you can go directly to customer service (Which is in SOUTH AFRICA) but 9/10 they wont/cant help..
HOPE THIS CLEARED THINGS UP A LITTLE0 -
Anyone who says this is not a scam is technically wrong.
Ok its not a scam, in the sense that should you wish to go through with it, parting with lots of money along the way, you will get to do some paintballing.
But most of the complaints i've read about, and had the unfortunate pleasure to fall for myself, involve being sold this great package, without the salesman telling them that to actually play, they need to spend a hell of a lot more money. Simply put, for the money you have just paid, you cannot play paintball. But nowhere in his pitch, does he tell you that.
And nowhere in his pitch does he actually tell you, the fee doesn't include paintballs.
As others have posted, they then require a minimum of £10 per person for 100 paintballs.
I use 100 per game, and thats with a manual gun. most of these parks cleverly use semi-auto's meaning you waste far more paintballs. The day they offer usually consists of 12-14 games, meaning you will, at a minimum, need to buy an extra 1000 paintballs costing £69.90 per person. Again, nowhere in his spiel does he mention this.
i paid £59 (plus a £2 card fee (which, shock horror, he again failed to tell me about until i had my card in his machine) for 10 tickets, which makes it a reasonable minimum of around £85 per person.
Whilst many of you may think thats cheap, it's not when you think you're only paying £59.
The reason you think you're only paying this amount, is because he doesn't tell you that paintballs are not included.
Under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading regulations 2008, misleading omissions, effectively makes this a scam.
They deliberately fail to mention all the costs upfront, something the regulations insist they do. This is because, the information they omit, influences your decision to buy the package. I'm sure the huge majority of the people duped into this package, would not have bought it, if the salesman had told you it would cost an extra £70 per person to actually play, and the money you were paying now, is literally just to let you through the gates. I dont believe all the crap about it being for equipment, as most wont let you use your own due to insurance purposes, and without it would clearly be against health and safety laws. In other words, its necessary and compulsory for you to use their equipment and so should not be sold as an 'extra'.
IF you've booked direct with the site, the info is clearly available, so not a scam. IF you've been unfortunate enough to be collared by one of their dishonest street sellers, then yes. Consider It a scam!0 -
Yes I play paintball every week and I Have my own Paintball gun and I love It0

I met one of their touts at a shopping centre and to his credit he gave me a full breakdown of the cost and explained that I would have to pay £10 per person upfront.
All in all (excluding the £10 per person upfront cost) I paid £35 for 20 tickets and 100 free paintballs per person
so all in all £11.75 for 200 paintballs, entry, equipment and refreshments. Not half bad.
I guess there will be some how will not mention the full breakdown of costs but the guy I dealt with did. So all in all I am fairly satisfied with IPG
I am completely against calling them a scam because they do make you sign something and there is nothing stopping you reading what you are signing. Too many people have become reckless and careless and will happily sign things without properly reading first and then throw a strop when they get burnt. It is not the most ethical practice by IPG but it is not exactly illegal or a scam. Just yesterday my new lodger signed the agreement I prepared for him without reading it, me being me, I stopped him ripped it up printed another copy and insisted he read what he was signing. Turns out he wasn't happy with my proposal for charging £5 extra a month for broadband access and then I gently reminded him that he had happily signed before...0 -
Thanks for everyone's comments in this thread, there does seem to be some confusion over this being an offer or a being a con...
For me, after being caught on this today it is clearly a case of MISS-SELLING.
I have signed up to an offer of up to 10 people paid entry for £60 including 100 paintballs - and I did this on the basis that the rep and the literature provided says it usually costs £30 each so wow what a great saving I thought. So its MISS-SELLING because I was told by the rep that what is normally £30 was costing me £6 per person. Having checked my local paint ball website and "normal" prices i can see it only normally costs £10 "SO MISS SOLD".
Now having read the literature I can see that I have NO paintballs included as standard to start the game so will have to pay £9.99 extra on entry for my first 100 and then buy them for every game after that (£7.99/100). The 100 included are for the final game of the day ONLY and only if you attend all other 13 games prior. So at around £7.99 a game I will have to pay £105.88 to get the 100 free balls. So at best you can call this an 6% discount on paintballs if you stay the full day.
Disappointing. When did something as simple and enjoyable as paintball become so misleading and underhand.

Why did you sign up there and then ?
Learn to say no and walk away.
If you wanted to do some paintballing why not call a local firm and book in the 10 people to do some paintballing.0 -
Hi I'd quit now before you start SERIOUSLY
I bought a £10 deal for a ten person private day to go all inclusive to delta force paint balling, light lunch provided (what a scam they've got going)
It was for my sons 14th B-day & thought him + 9 of his friends great.
After buying said item from a voucher site I called them to arrange a day, they said we had to pay an additional £8:50 per person none refundable (which I thought OK then it's for his day)
Arrange a mini bus (£200 there+back) but besides the point.
We got there, all wavers signed then we're told body amour (that was supposed to be included)was an extra £20,gloves were extra also, the padded overalls were just normal thin army style overalls.
The site manager asked my partner who was dealing with all of it"we could have a private day (just the boys) for a one off on the day price of only £100" & then went behind her back & asked me if I was going to pay it.
It was declined.
And have now realised they've broken their own rules by letting kids play with adults.
The first game started & the 2000 paint balls between 10 people, that came with the deal were gone in half an hour.
Panic set in as the boys weren't going mad with them.
In all we had to buy an additional 3000 paintballs that came to £209.85 (£69.95 for a 1000)
And don't get me started on the light lunch,we were told sandwiches+drink
It was a cheap pot noodle nock off
The staff were great but I personally think it's one great big SCAM
