Top of the list is Alaska to see the aurora borealis. Planning it for a few years time (not going to happen for my 40th next year, sadly). The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

At the age of 16 an uncle who lived in Canada told me "You must see Las Vegas before you die"
So at the age of 48 I eventually got there, sadly I'd only allowed a stop of four days, I should have made it 14 days! You can have a great time, forget about the gambling, each hotel has various free attractions, shows/displays etc. intended to draw you in to gamble but as long as you keep your hands in your pockets it won't cost you a penny!
I'd go back tomorrow if health & travel insurance would allow me but unfortunately they won't but at least I did get there.
Closer to home is Bruges in Belgium, if you've never been you're missing a magical place, hardly changed since the 13/14th century. Go for a weekend but ensure you stay in a central hotel (I like the Aragon but there are many to choose from). It's particularly nice during December with the German style markets & great atmosphere.0 -
I would also recommend Vegas. If you ever get there look at hotels that are off the strip - The Rio for example - we stayed there last year the hotel is suite only and on average it cost us about $60 a night. The hotel is fantastic and has its own aerial show three / four times a night and if you wanted to visit the strip they run a free bus service until the early hours every day.
A tv programme that I saw recently also said that the hotels in the older part of vegas are offering really good value to get the punters down that end of town.
Well worth looking into.
Have a great holiday!!!:beer:0 -

as with Trevored reply i would agree Vegas and Bruges. Bruges best time in December for me with their ice rink and typical german type of xmas markets. Vegas is just so different.
i love travelling and there are so many different experiences to be had that difficult to comment. i also like ireland in its own way - though the weather not always great but great drinking places (and i dont really drink), france south west is very different too. there is also the pilgrim's trail to st jacques of compostela which is great too. in the south west of our house infrance we have 50/80 walkers a day coming past!!!! my mum who is a big hiker says that the best walk she's done so far in france was in brittany on the customs coast as it seems to be known. hope that helps. maybe looking at things whether this be for nature, building or sports might help you in conquest?0 -
