iPhone tariff o2 - now able to have unlimited texts again

Just thought I would let you all know that O2 have relented to the demand for unlimited texts and have allowed this bolt-on to be added to their packages again (including the iPhone tariffs) from today.

It is the usual charge of £7.34/month, the other bolt-ons (eg Unlimited landlines) are still not available, only the Text-unlimited one has returned.

Why pay for an overpriced tariff then have to add a bolt on that adds another £135 to an 18 month contract.

Not from today, I got mines added on two days ago ;)

BUT she did make a bit of a song and dance about how it should have been added at 'the point of sale', so not sure if this applies to existing contracts?

I don't work there anymore but will try find out - or 'iwanttosave' might be along soon to confirm.

snakeeyes21 - this may be a moneysaving site but just because something isn't your taste doesn't mean that you need to comment on someone elses decision. The unlimited text bolt on actually saves people money in the long run ;)

The bolt on is supposed to be used in conjunction with an upgrade or retention deal and customer service staff shouldn't add the bolt on to existing accounts. But, you know how it goes.. ;)

Only retentions are allowed to give it and only at the end of contract. Comms have been sent out telling advisors they are not to add it because people got the wrong end of the stick and were adding it.
