Three awful customer service
Options
Hi,
I just got off the phone with Three who 'upgraded' my phone last week from the N95 8GB to the Sony Ericsson W995.
The first thing I should mention is that I only agreed to this as they said they had neither the N96 or N97 in stock, I would love this new Sony phone and that I had 14 days to send it back if I wanted to as long as I didn't personalise the phone.
I opened the phone yesterday, well aware of having to keep the packaging 'as new' and turned the phone on, it prompted me to insert my SIM or view the demo. I had to insert my SIM as i would not get a very good assessment of the phone otherwise. And after playing with it for 10 mins or so, found it incredibly slow and I just didnt like it.
So i phoned them today and tried to send it back however the man on the phone (who was extremely patronising and rude by the way) told me that I couldnt as I had 'personalised' the phone by putting the sim in and playing around with it. I told him nothing had been done on the phone but he said there was nothing I could do. I explained that this was basically forcing me to use a phone I didnt want for 18 months and I got quite angry with him and the call ended with nothing progressing.
I have a phone I do not want and I am unable to return it!! Is there anything i can do??
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi,
In the pack that your SIM came in there should be a 'Care 3' or something similar booklet. If you read this it states what you can and can't do in order to return a phone. From memory you are allowed to insert your SIM however you cannot personalise the phone e.g. set the time etc.
If you have just inserted the SIM and had a look around you will be able to return the phone within 14 days. If you have this booklet then it is in there.0 -
If you don't like it, you could always sell it on Ebay and use the money to buy a phone that you do like.
I just recieved my new phone from them today
Samsung s7330
Wasn't my phone of choice, as I wanted a touchscreen LG or Samsung, but they wouldn't give me one with the deal I got.
So I shall just sell this on ebay and buy a touchscreen phone on there instead.
However if you haven't personalised it, you have 14 days to send it back.:j Things can only get Better :j0 -
Well they must have changed their policy as last year I've had a phone which I didn't like, sent it back and got a different one.0

You could always upgrade instore, that way you can try before you buy and eliminate the hassle of having to send a phone back0

There is an option in the menu to reset the phone to defaults, so that will take away any settings or changes you have done.0
