Im sure that on another of your recent posts you were trying to get your landlord to lower your rent when your current contract runs out next month on the basis that the flat next door was being advertised for alot less than yours.

    How did you get on?

Could you not give your notice & move out when your contract ends onto a cheaper place whilst things are unsettled & your struggling financially?

That worked out really well, and so i was feeling really really pleased with that sicne i felt like things were finally getting in order and under control financially,
but so whats happening with my job now has really scared and unsettled it all again.

With the rent though i had offered £595p/m in that big waffling email, since £595 was asking price, and id phoned him next day (hes on holiday at mo) but he said that was fone and he would do paperwork when he got back.
I looked 2days later at estate agents site and the flat had been lowered to £550 asking price.

So i sent a shorter sharper email saying 'im going hospital end of week, so could you possible send through any paperwork that i need to sign before then. Im happy to offer full current aksing price of 550p/m for 1year tenancy, however if you were willing to drop it a further £30 i can offer 4years tenancy''.

Got reply back 2days later saying hes fine to accept my reduced offer of £520p/m and he will send paperwork on friday when hes back in country. :o

So that was a really really huge great relief,
since ive been on £675p/m for last 1year, so knocking this £155 per month and down to just £520 of is going to help ALOT.

Sadly £520 is the very very cheapest you will be able to get a modern studio/old 1-bed flat for though.
Most 1bedroom flats anywhere in or near the area start at £600-£700+.

And even just getting a 1room in a house will be minimum £450-£500.

So having got the rent down £155 to just £520 is the lowest it can go

You can feed yourself for much less than £3 a day.

It will take months at least to be evicted.

£3 per day is the equivalent of 1 MacDonalds happy meal having to last you for the whole day, (3meals).

How much lower can you possibly get it... :S

Do you honestly think it's wise committing youself to a 4 year tenancy agreement in the current position you are in?

Are there not any cheaper properties around that you could more afford?

At the end of the day it is your life & only you can decide what to do but if you could find somewhere cheaper or even move into shared accomadation until things are more settled it would save you alot of stress.
I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

No it still keeps the 2months notice clause if i want to leave before the 4years are up, although its on minimum of 6months before you can go,
so could give 2months notice in 4months time, and then leave after that.

But the 4years is mainly to lock-in the low price for me, and from the landlord's point of view it means that he shouldn't have an empty flat for the next 4years.

Bag of Rice and a Bag of Pasta would come to about £3.

Feed most people for a day.

Im not at the moment since i have my flat to live in, with income coming in.

But UNLESS next week my boss calls me and says ''hi ive now done the rota for next month for you and so you back to normal shifts'',
then when end of august comes i will have no money at all to pay my rent so will endup homeless then, since i will lose my home.

And i have under £15 in my bank account currently, with a weekly food budget of under £3 per day, and so unless i find a big sack of money then when i go into the shop to try buying food and dont have the money there then yes i will endup starving, since things ownt just work themself out and change for the better later that day.
The opposite will happen and my stomach will hurt more and more and i will feel sicker and sicker, but sill no money will appear in my pocket.

Im not trying to be dramatic,
but losing your income and home is a very dramatic thing to happen, and when you look at the actual reality of what happens as it happens theres not really an 'undramatic' way of describing it.

The tears are welling up in my eyes!

A £3 bag of pasta (3kg) would cover about 30 meals. 100g is plenty for 1 meal.

OP, you seem to be running multiple threads that don't seem to add up -

"And in addition to GCSEs, A-levels, B-tec, professional work experience from self employment in a few industries (1 very specific, but others reasonably broad based),
i also have 2years of partime charity work from when i was younger, which is combined with sales assistant experience.

For the 1st few weeks i was targeting mainly just security/public services jobs as thats the sector i want a career in,
and stockmarket trading jobs, since that was where i had my strong experience in, as id been doing it daily for a living for the past year."

A levels, then b-tec, self emplyed in a few industries, a year in stockmarket trading, bit of part time here and there too. 2000 job applications with no interviews etc etc.

The simple fact is that JSA will pay you about £50 a week.
If you go for shared room accomodation, you should find your rent nearer to the amounts allowed.
You made choices that you perhaps now regret, but other people manage by making different choices and by budgeting.
Beans on toast, pasta and cheese, rice and peas. Might not be what you want, but it might be what you have to do.

If you want to know your housing rights and/or fear homelessness, then Shelter is your best port of call. They offer free expert housing advice. This forum is excellent for advice on budgeting, etc.

But leave that child out of your problems. You seem to think you are magnanimous by dissuading her not to ditch her college course to join you but your decision to even consider involving her in a sham relationship to maximise your benefit entitlement and your poor justifications for it shows a lack of general scruples on your part.

I'm pretty sure you are a troll but still...

When me and my ex first got together we lived in a single bedsit for almost a year - and we shared a single bed! There was just enough room for a single wardrobe, a chest of drawers and the bed - that was it! We had a shared bathroom and kitchen.

We originally went there while waiting for a double room to become vacant but, when one did, we couldn't afford the extra rent, so we stayed put. there was no help with rent then and we were both working full time but still struggled.

That is what most people do - why should you be different?
