Don't offer them anything at all. OP does not owe anything.

Shame on Weatherseal - certainly wouldn't ever use them after reading this,.
I did not say offer, I suggested being prepared to pay. Subtle but significant difference.

I reported this company to trading standards last year, along with threatening them with reporting them to Financial service authority and telephone preference service. They did the same to my (mentally ill) father in law. Wouldn't leave him alone. They even sold him PPI (he's retired). They STILL have his details on their database and despite me calling/writing to them constantly, they still contact him. Awful sales tactics.

As far as I am concerned there is a 7 days cooling off period if signing in the home, providing you acted within this time frame and can provide evidence to support it (tel bills, registered letters or just a copy of the letters) no court will allow them to win.

As trading standards for help, but do act, if they havent got anything they'll pretend they were unaware, so the sooner you act/small claims etc the sooner you'll get the deposit back

I dont think weatherseal are GGF members but they are owned by the same people that own everest (or were) and they are. The GGF would take a dim view if they learnt of these tactics.

Buying quality goods which last, should be an investment that saves money. :T
Buying cheap products which fail, wastes money and costs twice as much in the long run.
